It's the power of the Lord's redemption.

A man who was in a gang and tattooed up who then comes to the Lord has been redeemed by the Lord's blood but still has those tattoos from his pagan life on his body. Most cannot afford to have them removed. The Lord redeems that man and that past so that he no longer sees those tattoos as a reminder of his past life and feels pain, but rather he sees those tattoos as a reminder of where he's been and what the Lord delivered him from and praises God.

thats not the same. we dont have to have a christmas tree, and all the things.

do i still call myself a bi? or a bi christian?NO i put the old things away.

but that being said this to me is something that each my decide to whether the holiday is afront to God.

as it like the idea of secular music to me.

Anything can be redeemed.

I'm not to sure about what zen is tho so I won't comment on that.

this in a nut shell.

theres no good or bad only what is. and that we can become one with the universe by loosing ourselves to meditation and becoming nothing and "blending" in with the universe

google this idea

mushin.

(no mind).

Yeah, but most people don't know that Christmas has pagan origins. In their hearts it's a pure expression of gratitude and love for God.

that is why at times i educate them

why do some think we need trees to do what what we should do all the days of our lives!

"Christian meditation" is simply "Be still and know I'm God." A Christian has a form of "meditation" so Zen would be idolatrous and adulterous.

This has nothing to do with what I was saying. I'm not talking about the forgiveness of sins or when people repent and stop committing some sin. What I'm talking about is the church taking something that the Bible declares to be sinful and saying that it is no longer sinful. Can the church declare, for example, idolatry to be an acceptable form of worship?

It's festive and fun. How many families go out pick out a tree from the tree farm together? How many fathers and sons go out and cut a tree down themselves. How many have special days and traditions where they play worship music and decorate the tree and then share Scripture around it? These moments of love are done in the name of the Lord and to glorify Him. This moments bless the Lord's heart!

You completely missed the point I was making.

so is engaging in the occult to me. i mean its a big control game that my flesh loves, shall i do that too?

you have no idea how the occult(ie reading minds and what i used to do) is tempting to me.

i dont have to try to do that again. if i say go its on.

The occult and families praising God while they decorate the Christmas tree are apples and oranges.

What if Christian meditation was used to replace and stamp out pagan Zen so that only the Holy of Holies would be glorified?

just like the so called christian music does on the radio? i mean the ones that sell a lot of albums that call the name of the lord as he instead of HE!!!!!! or JESUS.

its the power of GOD!!!!!!!! that changes, not men.

i listen to christian music but if i really want to worship the messiah, i must wip out the music of adoration

i love this song but it irks me.

born agian by third day. it one part the female lead says i hope that my new life is real! that isnt what the bible says its a know so salvation.

and these christian musicians (some) are in it for the money as why do we give them rewards for what the lord called them do. honoring is one thing but the dove awards.

in fact , they are even Gays in the christian musician industry that sing!

and i know not all are bad.

decorating a babylonian God? really why did paul give this command or the acts 15 council?

that the gentile doesnt eat meat offered to idols.

that says its best.

Yes, but how many people are touched by Christian worship music while having no idea of the sin that takes place behind it? To them it is music that glorifies God and expresses their hearts to God and they in turn use it to bless God.

God meets us at whatever level we are on so as to draw us near.

How many Christians know that? They aren't worshipping idols when they do it, they are professing their love for the Lord and blessing Him.

I have to agree with Jason on this. People have fun doing all kinds of things. Muslim families have great fun during Ramadan. Does that mean that God is pleased with it? Hindus and Budhists have fun with their families during their festivals. Does that sanctify them? No. Having fun doesn't make something right.

Like I said in another thread, we have to stop basing our theology on emotions. If we set aside how fun it is and how much the children love Santa and all the other emotional reasons to keep Christmas, and only look at what the Bible says, there is nothing to support it and actually quite a bit to suggest we shouldn't be celebrating Christmas.

this is why we should tell them.

for my people perish for lack of knowledge.

to me christmas isnt much as i wasnt raised in it. i was mocked for not celebrating it.

oh the poor cranmans they dont celebrate it because they are jws. freaks!!!!!!

yes, i have done it with my parents a few times but again why do we need a tree to celebrate what ?

the christ's coming.

we do that when we have communion.

we do that when we read the account. yes one can give when one desires, and also still be with familes.

those arent sins.

Those families are blessing the Lord Jesus while being blessed by the Lord Jesus at the same time hence why that joy is fun.

I didn't say anything about emotions. I base my theology on the Scriptures and the heart of the Lord. The heart of the Lord is pure, unconditional love and everything I've experienced in Him as a once worthless, rebellious, sinner is the reason I am a new creation in Him completely in love with the Lord who saved me.

When the Lord who has severely rebuked me for things like being mean to my little brother, decides to rebuke me for celebrating Christmas. I will stop celebrating Christmas. Until that day, I will worship and celebrate and glorify the Lord every Christmas season with the joy of the Lord in my heart.
