Hey so my school just got done with our spring play and I wanted to start a thread here to see if anyone has been in or had any school plays or even just any funny stories about plays they have been in.

The play we just did was Shrek and I played human Fiona (we had to have another girl play ogre fiona because we couldn't make me green quick enough). Anyway the whole play went great. Funny story is at one of the rehersals it took twice as long as it should have because I could not stop laughing because Lord Farquad was being so funny. At one point I was sent out of the room because it had gotten so bad but it was all good because there were a few times my teacher started laughing too.

So does anyone have any funny theater stories or has done any school plays lately?

The school I went to did musicals. I was never in them but from memory some of the ones they did when I was there were Bye Bye Birdie, Greece and Annie.

I would have liked to have played in the band but never got the chance.

The musicals my school sometimes does are pretty good. I'm not involved in any of them though.

I'm home schooled, so no school plays for me, but when me and my siblings were younger, every year we'd do a play of Jesus's birth on Christmas. I was always Joseph, except for the last year I did it, where I was the donkey Mary rode on, and my younger brother was Joseph :tongue

I played Ewart Dunlap in the Music Man, because I have always sang bass. I also played an invented character to cover for most of the male leads inability to sing when we did 42nd Street. (Director didn't think I was much of an actor). They were fun times.

I played Demetrius in Midsummer Night's Dream but i was only in 5th grade and it was more of a class thing than a school thiing.
