Schoolies

Here in Australia, when we finish school (as in our last year), most people head up the coast and basically party and get smashed for a week at a place called the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia.

Now I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like a very good end of school party to me, especially considering I wouldn't remember any of it.

So me and some friends from youth group are thinking of going somewhere closer, at a place called Lake Macquarie, and staying at a small house/cabin. It should be a good, probably alcohol-free week spent with some great Christian mates.

Is there anything like this in other parts of the world? What are your plans when it comes to this time?

Haha, I've never called it schoolies before.
But, yeah, I know what you're talking about.

Well, I'm not even in high school yet, so it's not really a problem for me. When the time comes, I'm not sure what I'll do, probably an alternate celebration like you, Nick.
