KJV Exo 22:2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
KJV 2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

KJV 1Ti 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel (unbeliever).

An article I came across:
The Christians at the Elim Mission Station in Rhodesia were such convinced pacifists, that even within a few kilometres of Marxist Mozambique during a vicious war, they refused to be armed. They had neither fence, nor dogs to protect them. They refused to allow the security forces to station some guards for their protection. When communist terrorists visited Elim, the missionaries provided them with food and medical supplies.

On one fateful night, in 1979, ZANLA terrorists of Robert Mugabe herded the nine missionaries and four children onto one of the fields. In front of the parents, they hacked the children to death. Then, in front of the husbands, they raped and tortured the women to death. Finally, they brutally murdered the men. Yet, so effectively had their pacifist beliefs neutralized them, that there was no attempt at resistance. The men stood by and watched ruthless terrorists butcher and abuse their loved ones.

In November 1987 a similar massacre took place at New Adams farm in Zimbabwe. Their sincere belief in pacifism disarmed the 16 precious Christians and made them helpless victims to a frightful slaughter.

Rwanda was a Gun Free Zone

On 6 April 1994, one of the most dreadful campaigns of mass murder was unleashed upon the Tutsi people of Rwanda. In just over 6 weeks more people were killed with machetes and clubs than had died from atomic weapons in all of history. The MRND Hutu government of Rwanda instigated, organised and launched the systematic slaughter of the Christian Tutsi minority after enforcing a rigorous gun control. As the population had been previously disarmed, they were helpless to defend themselves against the state which now had a monopoly of weapons. Over 500,000 Tutsi Christians were murdered.

The confiscation of weapons made the massacres possible - by disarming the targeted victims. The holocaust in Rwanda again confirmed that limiting the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families is an open invitation to criminals to attack the innocent.

As for me, I don't own a gun, but I don't oppose other Christians who own guns. Who am I, as a Christian, to judge others in this matter, as if to say because they own a gun and I don't makes them less of a Christian? I choose to judge myself in this matter.

If your Christian faith is to pray for 80,000 angels to come to your rescue, then so be it (Pat yourself on the back), but that doesn't mean your more holier than a Christian who owns a gun.

This is not a valid argument - it involves the same error as the "we should ban cars since they kill more people than guns" argument. Clearly "hands" are vital tools for living. Guns are not - many societies get by quite nicely without them.

i didnt own a car till aged 28. when i was in the army a car wasnt needed, and i couldnt afford to buy, if i lived in a city i would sell my car and use mass transit.

pointless to idle in a large city and waste money. to save what? a few minutes if that?

I am sorry, but it was you who clearly affirmed the content of a post that lay the blame for higher gun violence in the USA on blacks. It was not me who introduced race - it was Old Tractor and then you (when you affirmed his post).

Do you really agree with this or not? Its no crime for you to say that you did not intend to affirm this particular part of the post - no one is perfect.

So here is your chance - do you, or do you not agree with Old Tractor that blacks using guns are responsible for higher levels of gun crime in the USA?
US Bureau of Justice Statisics(2004),FBI As of 2005 statistics show that offending rates were more than 7 times higher for blacks then the rates for whites. Are we suppose to be afraid to tell the truth in this area???

drew its a well known fact and sadly i might add and lewis will testify, that in general the population by race in prisons/jail is the black race.

that isnt meant to be racist but a sad reality.

When liberals are around, yes. It's a clever tactic they use very effectively.

Does anybody here think that the Name of Jesus has enough power to be the solution in any situation ?

I do. Anyone who doesn't believe this is in a world of hurt. A bullet is worthless when you compare it to His Name.

God bless you, brother.

With a nuke, you can be elderly or disabled and defend yourself against China.
Wrong. With a nuke, the USA can defend itself against China.

There's a difference between self defense and shoot to kill. In most situations I think you could shoot someone in the leg rather then the head and fix the situation without taking something that God values dearly: Human life
Not what I was instructed when issued my permit. Guns are a last resort, they are deadly force. Again, as the deputy told me, I only draw a weapon as a last resort, not as a bluff, but to stop the situation.

And it doesn't matter WHOSE human life that is: Jesus died for us all.
That debate is in another thread, I have learned, after 33 years as a Christian, that those of us who believe that are wrong.

It is YOUR DECISION to decide that the penalty for breaking into a house = death. Not even a court of law agrees with that: Burglary would get a hefty prison sentence, not a death penalty.
The law in my state holds that deadly force to defend yourself or your home is justified if you believe your life is in danger.

How does it feel to do what you are doing? Since I read the first post here by you I considered you one of the posters I liked. Now I realize that, sometimes, you show an inability to think things thru clearly.

So according to you the government should not be allowed to prohibit private weapons, including WMDs, right? I mean the amendment doesnt say "The citiznes are allowed to carry guns BUT NOTHING MORE DANGEROUS THEN THAT".. It just says "right to bear arms", so that means ANY arms according to you, right?
"Arms" in the context of the time meant guns.

The very last part of your post became idiotic. I find this sad, as again, I enjoyed reading your posts here.

Try curing M.S. with it. Or cancer. Try stopping three thugs on a dark street in Atlanta with it and let me know how you do.

See, I think your statement, while well intentioned, smacks very close to "taking the Lord's name in vain". If you disagree, go try any of the things I have mentioned and let me know how it works out.

You mean well, and it surely sounds "spiritual" on an internet message board to say something like that, but what did you just prove? Nothing.

Say hi to Benny Hinn or Kenneth Copeland (or who ever you follow) for me.

YouTube - Pat Tomasulo Takes on...Shirtless Guys Running

now then can sam21 shoot them or one of them while they run or move fast to avoid your aim while using proper:

breathing technique?
aim?
trigger squeeze

keep in mind that your life is at stake and you have never ever shot and taken a life.
he has a knife and in the process of you taking aim at his legs, you are now cut.

adreline is kicking and also tunnel vision.

good luck.

mean while i would pull weapon then point barrel if he didnt drop the blade fire buy simple 'punching' the gun at his chest.

no need to aim as that is so close that will suffice to hit him in some vital organ.

If I am in a position where it looks like I may have to use deadly force, it is for certainly that I will be praying that God will change the situation so I will not have to, after that whatever happens, happens.

Agreed Sam, but it happened so fast that I had no clue what was happening...

Never been so scared in my LIFE. :sad

I was told never carry a weapon you won't use. because it's only a threat to you.

I can't imagine myself killing anyone even if they were threatening me so me having a gun would be completely pointless as would mandating that every adult own one.

I would however carry a stun gun or pepper spray.
Unfortunately I'm not allowed those either ¬.¬ *sigh*

I can't imagine how heart pounding of a situation it would be, and hope I never have to experience it. However, if my life is obviously in danger [or my families], and there is no other way around it, I will stop the threat, . . . then live with that decision.

Sad truth is, . . . if everyone followed the "Golden Rule", we'd all be safe[r]. It isn't a reality.

pizzaguy, good word on "Does anybody here think that the Name of Jesus has enough power to be the solution in any situation?" posted above.

oh the prayers that i said in combat, lord let me live. i dont want to die.

the most prayers i said in combat was when i watched the farp go up, 50k gallons up in smoke and a fireball heading toward our ammo!

not that i didnt pray when i was in war or attend chapel or run a small midweek class.

pepper spray merely would annoy me as i have been hit by that. aim for the eyes if you use it.
