Should Churches have armed forces to protect themselves from intruders? Is it Biblical?

In the very end times, all Bibles will be taken away from us and all Churches shut down and closed.
The Antichrist will not allow it. This is where Jesus said ( Darkness is coming when no one can work.
John 9:4) Hopefully and we should all be raptured away by then. COME SOON LORD JESUS

Sorry Lee, but you did not answer my question.

Should Churches have soliders and armed security guards? Yes? no? maybe so?

Yes, I think it is appropriate, considering the dangers present today, for an armed guard to guard the church. David protected the Israelites from Goliath with a slingshot. If he'd had a gun back then, I bet he would have used it.

My opinion is different when it comes to an entire congregation rallying to show off their guns to each other (as in the other post).

Absolutely! My church has police officers on duty. Mainly for the parking, lol. :biggrin

Did the Churches in Biblical times have armed forces? Who was Jesus's bodyguard?

I didn't live in biblical times. What does it hurt to have uniformed guards in a day where people can come in and kill you because they don't agree with you?

Jesus had 12 disciples who would have assuredly layed down their lives for Him. :)

I think not, Churches should not have armed forces. Jesus did not call us to battle, at least not to battle in the flesh. We wage war with the tools of the spirit.

Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

If it weren't for the armed security guard at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, CO (my church until recently), there would have been possibly hundreds dead from the shooter a year and a half ago.

I am FOR armed security. :armed

Absolutely not. That would be to entirely buy into the world's approach to solving problems. And that is precisely the opposite of the gospel call.

Define security!

If I pulled into the parking lot of a church and saw they had armed guards for protection, I would make a quick exit out of there. The bible says to stay away from those who have a form of godliness but deny the power therein.
I know there would be no power from God in a church that trusts in man for it's safty. :nono

The best thing that could happen to the people of God is to be driven underground through persecution, then we will learn what it means to completely trust and depend on Him.

Did David buy into the world's approach to solving problems when he killed Goliath?

Did you see my post, destiny? If there was not an armed guard in the building that day, a homicidal maniac would have murdered and wounded hundreds of innocent people. Are you telling me that a church who has experienced a violent attack did not have God's presence in it? Any Christian who gets hurt or killed didn't pray enough or didn't trust in God enough? Please clarify, because I have agreed with ALL of the posts I've read from you up to this one, and I think I may be misunderstanding you.
