"Silence", the movie, has been out for a while.
Rented it, and have just today finished watching it.
Its powerful, it thought provoking, its dismaying, and its at times, riveting and in an adult way, gruesome.
I say "adult way", in the sense that there is violence that is a part of the true history of this true story that while quite graphic, its also quite true.
Very unusual story, very dramatic.
It not the type movie, (Christian movie) where at the end of it you feel closer to God....but rather at the end of it you will say...."wow" and for the rest of the day you will still be saying, "wow".
Its a movie that is very unexpected and as i said, very dramatic.
Rent it, if you have the free time to actually sit and watch a 2hr movie without the cell phone or the kids or the life causing you to have to lose focus, 45 times, while you put it on "pause" again.
Rent it, if you would like to see what it was like to be an Apostle......kinda...
Rent it, if you are able to deal with watching 'The Passion of the Christ".
Rent it, as for no other reason you will be watching a well crafted and expertly directed movie with a story that has never been told before and will never be seen again.....like this.
Avoid it if ......you need car chases onscreen, things blowing up onscreen, rock music songs in your ears, ........ or if you hate Catholics.
