Brother Pizza, through our communication concerning your sister fro the past years I have come to love her dearly, as well as you and your dedicated care for her. She may be right in her evaluation of the condition she's in, and you're right in the fact God could heal her if He doesn't want her with Him at this present time. I continue in prayer for her and you and pray that you both receive blessings in this time that glorifies God. Can you just imagine her walking before Him in glory?

Dear Father, make this time of trial in these blessed saints a time of peace and joy they have never experienced, give them the grace to endure, and the blessed comfort of knowing Jesus is in the fire with them. Thank You Father for Your perfect work in their lives for their good in Jesus' name. Amen.

I'm sorry, Pizza. I just prayed for you, your sister, and the rest of the family. I've read in some books for Christians that a Christian's life is the story of God's work in yet another human being's life. Pain is sometimes a big part of God's work in our lives, and it seems that Christians often suffer more than non-believers (I stole this observation from CS Lewis, btw).

Anyway...because of Christ, there's meaning and beauty and depth to suffering and pain, for Christians. Easy for me to say, I know, but...I believe it to be true, which is why I'm writing this.

Some people are weaker, more fragile, more vulnerable than others. Your sister is an example of one of these people. Christ is with the least of these in ways that...defy belief, defy understanding. I say this as someone who deals with a psychotic disorder (w/ meds, clearly) and all the stigma and everything that goes with it. I don't quite get your sisters' sort of pain, but I do, to a point, "get" being amongst the least of these, dependent on others, all that.

Anyway...God is good (all the time), and His work has meaning even when it also proves frustrating and downright depressing. CS Lewis wrote something to the effect that "Pain is God's megaphone," and I sometimes think he's correct.

Rambling...I don't have a whole lot to share with you, just that I'm praying and that God's work in your life and your sister's life has some kind of depth and meaning and purpose, even if the rest of the world doesn't see it or "get it."

You're in my prayers....

My nephew is very discouraged. Deb is running a fever and is very weak again - and remember, she is HOME. Nurse says that the infection in her pressure sore and/or Urinary tract is back again. Nephew says he, today, for the first time, thought: "Im not sure I can do this anymore." I told him I understood. Don't know what else to tell him.

Prayers continue for your sister & all family, Pizza. It's rough when dealing with an on-going health issue. But, since Deb is 'family,' everyone perseveres in the efforts to keep her attitude as positive as possible.

I would question the sort of care she's receiving at the home.

But most of all, I pray for her.

My sister did not last at home even a month. She was transported to the ER an hour or so ago. This time, it's issues and infection associated with her stoma/colostomy.

I don't think her living at home is gonna work. And she will FIGHT like hell to come back home. My nephew told me two days ago that he is almost to where he can't do it with her at home anymore. I totally understand but she wont, or hasn't so far.

A couple months back we place mom in a skilled nursing facility nice way of saying rest home.. . Mom is 93 and a hand full .. With mom living with us .. placing her was very hard the right thing but hard.. The point i am getting to i had full support of my siblings.. my sister drove up the day we moved her just for my support.. Pizza my heart hurts for you and your nephew... That trip to the wood shed a few years back has given Debi some of what she wanted/needed .. I pray you support your nephew...

Am sorry to learn of her latest trip to ER, Pizza. My prayers for her, you & the family.

Naturally she'll insist on going home when she can. Fighting is about the only thing she has left. Once that fight is gone, it's over.

It's quite possible her doctor will recommend someplace other than home for her.
