I think that was the conclusion among the technically minded on staff too. (Of which I'm NOT one!) The problem is what to do about it... I know they're aware of it, but it seems there's no easy answer to fix it that they are aware of. :shame
If my head were still able to function properly I would download the sites code and find another of the same brand, set up a closed server and run them into overload. From the results of the overload of both sites an analysis should show at what point this one fails and then a comparison of what has been added or what setting was changed should and usually does yield the issue. My biggest issue is my head these days and couple that with I just gave my last computer, a server, away to a little 8 year old lass and I can no longer do that.

th1b.taylor I'll do a logcat from my phone and attach it to the next message I can is/when it happens again. Here it is 6:03, so the ticker is running, and the countdown is on. 3, 2, 1... freeze.

See you on the other side of the wormhole. :popcorn

You mean to tell me the movies and TV did this to me? Why did you not warn me forty or fifty years ago? Shame on you.:yes:yes

I would hope GregHead would want to fix it if he values this site. To be honest, this is the ONLY site that does this out off all the sites I visit. It's a shame, and it's a bad testimony as well.

If it is band width or server issues it will depend much on finances. I have not checked but if this site is serviced by a Windoze server, that is most likely the issue. Apache Servers are very reliable and generally, in the past, cost less but folks have been sold a very large bill of goods about windoze and they don't both, usually, to compare service records.

Like I said I don't keep up much these days but Apache, until about '05, was, hands down the most reliable and the most cost effective.

I've had conversations with Greg. Talking to him live on the phone gave me a whole new impression of his desire to see CFnet prosper, and not only to support financial growth. It's been a few years, but I imagine little has changed. He wanted to see great things come to pass. He's very diverse in his business mix, and CFnet has always represented a loss. He was okay with that.

I had the impression that he has many interests competing for his time & attention. That's what I think it comes down to. He cares, but he's distracted by other things. It just takes holding him down for a focused discussion. With that, I'd encourage the admins to arrange for a phone call with him.

It must be a really small plan. It's now 2:45 AM and it's so slow it took me forever just to get to this thread. Do the servers really get that busy at this time of morning??? No sense in my trying to do any work on the threads or anything as It's just taking several minutes to do things that should happen close to instantly. :shame
