that is the cost of food, its cheaper to eat junk then proper food. uhm the government in part is to blame. nafta, free trade, where American workers loose, big government and and big corps win.

I don't agree with all of that but yes I have seen that. if the business was concerned about the cost to the taxpayers they would charge the same and provide the same level of service but at times they don't.
im not against all manner of privatization just noting the politics of if I know the politician I can get the contract for the favor of making it look cheaper. if the people don't notice nor care about their services they will get away with this.
