Some good Christian heavy metal bands

I'm also searching for band members to start a new Christian Heavy Metal band. A band that sounds like Iron maiden, Metallica & Stryper.

So far in Europe. I've already created few songs, when I find a band and stuff I'll post demos here and stuff!

AIR: No, but are there any tracks you recommend? are the lyrics clearly Christian?

Megadeth is a band formed in 80's by Dave Mustaine after fired from Metallica. Megadeth in itself does not have a lot of Christian lyrics because Dave Mustaine became a born again Christian in 2004 but albums after that has mostly Christian lyrical themes. Earlier albums does not have any. I think Dave Mustaine is a great man, he was in the bottom with drug & alcohol abuses but he was saved.

At this point, Dave Mustaine had a lot of drug abuses and he used to be drunk and under influence of drugs as playing live.

His life story is very great to read, he published a book aswell. You should read it if you're into Metal Because Metallica has been a huge influence in Metal growing. Did you know that Metallica stole Dave Mustaines songs on their first album, that's why Metallica started to earn reputation with Dave Mustaine songs, even Dave didn't give a permission to use his songs. Sorry, I always get excited when I can tell something about Megadeth, it has been my favourite band for a long time and I love to tell people that Dave is born again man and so on

AIR: Anyway, keep us posted of your efforts to start a band. It obviously takes a lot of commitment and skill and money management. Not to say decisions about your personal style and grooming, etc.

I am not a big fan of Skillet but just last night my daughter came over for dinner and we have always shared with each other different songs that we have enjoyed. The first band that she pulled up on YouTube was Skillet. She had gone to a concert of theirs a few years back and her favorite song was The Last Night (also Better Than Drugs). I listened to the lyrics and was moved by the powerful words. I believe that this helps a younger generation ( as in my daughter's case) to come to see the Light and hear of our Lord in a way that reaches them at a level that some of the music I listen to does not.

One part of The Last Night that I felt powerful was:

Skillet is a very popular band.

Another Christian band is Disciple, which has really good, powerful hard rock with thoroughly clear, Biblical lyrics. I think Disciple's 'Battle Lines' track is outstanding.
