I watched a video this morning where two young misguided youths pulled an armed robbery on a store. A legal ccw citizen outside saw it going down inside the store, and when they came out, he challenged them to stop and drop it. They turned their guns on him, so he shot and killed them both...

Then they interviewed the family of the perps, and the mama got on there and said that wasn't fair for them to be killed like that...!! I almost fell off my chair! What's fair? to let them go around threatening people and stealing their livelihoods with guns? Perhaps murdering someone sometime?

it was fair. If you play you pay. It takes a special kind of idiot to try to rob people nowadays with everyone armed to the teeth.

Wow, 2 against 1, and the one guy won. Now THAT, is gutsy!

It also makes me wonder what he had for a gun? Assuming it was a handgun, was it something he could genuinely conceal? I wouldn't think something that small would have that much stopping power, which suggests really good shooting.

They didn't say what kind of gun he had, but he is getting no charges at all. The got the getaway driver and charged him with 2nd deg murder.

He already had his gun out when they came out of the store, another testament to the stupidity of the perps for them to challenge a drawn gun. You are right, handguns are pretty feeble in the stopping power department, but does illustrate how easily humans are taken out of the fight. So as feeble as they are, even a 22 rimfire in the hands of a cool customer can be well used in self defense against unarmored targets.
