Over a year ago, we were earnestly praying that my husband would get hired as a behavioralist by the school that his client was going to. There were a lot of reasons why the position sounded so good. It was a lot closer to home, the work would be regular school day hours, and the benefits would have been far better than the benefits he gets with his current company.

Well, he didn't get that position. I know that he was really disappointed and even questioned the benefit of prayer.

Well, although it's rare that this happens, we were able to find out what would have happened if he had been hired. My husband ran into the woman who was hired for the position, she worked for the same company that he did and they know each other professionally. She told him that she finished the school year and was promptly fired that June and the position disolved, due to the fact that the school district didn't receive financing. She is now having to work two jobs in order to make the same income that she made when she worked where Steve is now. This is really hard on her, because she had a new baby.

I feel bad for the woman, but can only leave it in God's hands. I'm sure that He is working His will in her life, whether she recognizes it or not. (I have no idea if she is a Christian.) However, I'm glad that we have this opportunity to see how God worked things out for us. It's been a challenge since Steve was no longer able to work at that school, especially with the long commute and gas prices what they are. However, his company has been good to him, giving him several raises and increasing the mileage reimbursement he receives and they've been incredibly understanding and supportive during his recent health issues. Most of all, I'm glad for the reassurance Steve received that prayer and faith are real and that God does indeed work all things out for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.

Praise you Lord, you are so faithful to care for us, even when we don't find out what would have been. But, every now and again you show us to build our faith, which is just more of your goodness shining on us.

The Lord bless you, handy.

Yeah, I've been there also. I'm sure others have said this as well, but several years ago, I heard Garth Brooks say, “Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.â€Â

Then again, he also thanks God for cheeseburgers!

Lol- Nothing wrong in thanking God for cheeseburgers!!
Sometimes we are meant to be just where God puts us- whether job wise, home , whatever- we learn to be comfortable and greatful and thankful to God for the situations we're in- we're meant to be there and God has YOUR best interests at heart. :-D

Thanks for your inspirational testimony. I really needed to hear that. Sometimes we wonder what God is doing in a situation (like I am now) and we just have to rely on the fact that He sees the big picture where as we only see a tiny bit... and we have to rely on the fact that He knows it all while we only know a little. I needed to be reminded that God knows what He is doing.

Take care,
Teh
