I agree because unconscious connotes something much more severe than just being sleepy, or sleepy drunk. If a man's wife is unconscious I would expect him to be thinking about what medical condition caused her to be unconscious, not whether or not he should have sex with her.

Yeah, one would think.

Which reminds me....

If my wife faints when I take my clothes off, is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

cf. Consider why they faint.... if you have time before they hit the floor.
An anecdote, not meant to be particularly funny -- but more of a twilight zone issue:

My inlaw's grandma, was having sexual relations with her husband -- and low and behold he fainted right at the end; which could have been exhaustion as they were old -- and at first she thought it was because of that, and well -- she was right at the end too and not paying massive attention with the noises and all; -- but it wasn't -- he actually had a heart attack during orgasm and her own timing apparently had her so distracted she didn't notice right away. She didn't realize it until a couple of minutes late. Just a couple of minutes...

She was in shock, and people at the funeral didn't understand why she was so stoic.
Several of them said things like "She must not have loved him very much, because she isn't even crying."
And my (ex)wife, actually kind of saw it as romantic -- "he died in ecstasy"(laughter) " Grandma must have been *really* good." ( My ex's coping mechanisms are a bit weird... )

Now -- Police see everything; and I have seen some really surreal situations where police showed no pity when they really ought to have ... so I'm wondering, if that law had been in effect, and the police came with the ambulance and saw a woman in shock, and stoic, with a dead husband in bed --- would they have felt obligated to charge her with rape (esp. if they couldn't charge her with necromancy until they had the coriner's report); She had no possible alibi...

... shrug ...

Hey! It's only funny until it happens to you... No Joke!
It really DID happen to her ! She was furious for years about how people treated her at the funeral.
But I don't blame you for laughing.... it's a natural response for someone to have.
