I don't study particularly often. ed The only exception is band, where studying is simply practicing our repertoire. But when I do, I read a few sentences at a time, depending on what subject it is. I read it to myself then a few seconds later I close my eyes and try to repeat it in my head to see how well I have memorized it. I do this until I do. Nothing special, really, but it works for me.

When you're in junior school (as you are, I think) not much study is required. I got by fine by doing the same as you. But now I'm in my last year and we really have to do much more 'interactive' study to do well. Stuff like making essay questions for yourself, doing summaries of summaries etc are good methods. But I admit that I'm not the best at studying.
I've heard that if you read a sentence 28 times over, that's when your brain starts remembering.
I pay attention in class. That's my studying. I'm in the 11th grade and make mostly A's with an occasional B. My high school is also on the college level and accepted as part of a university system, so it has nothing to do with the grade or state I am in.
If I do happen to study outside class, it is usually the night before or the morning of. A quick skimming of notes or if I'm serious, studying for 20 minutes with a ten minute break [repeat].
