If you're going to go against tattooes because of the Bible, then you should also stop "getting your own tattoes."
In other words, if you want someone to follow the Bible follow it yourself.

There's nothing wrong with tattoes. They're just a form of human art, just like how sex is; what I mean by human art is what can be done with the human body. Just like how sex is not bad *unless used the wrong way*, so are tattoes not bad.

You look at this the wrong way. You are asking wether or not this offends God, wether it is acceptable.

Try this:

Could a tatoo bring glory or praise to God? Why yes it most certainly can. You are all right in saying that it's permanent and if you don't like what you got you're screwed. So what is something that you will never be ashamed that you got permanently embosed on your body? Well lets think about this... what is something that is permanent that you keep on the inside? Your faith, your salvation, your love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, couldn't a tatoo be an outward symbol to put on display of the inward faith you have? Yes.

In fact, i believe that religious tatoos are a very effective way to make a standout case for the Lord.

When people see that you have John 3:16 or a cross permanently colored into your skin, it makes a very strong statement. It shows that you believe and are dedicated to believe and that you have such faith that you don't worry about the permenance of a tatoo.

So, if you get a tatoo, let it be for the glory of Lord and let it be an outward testimony to the inward ways that God has touched your heart.

I like tattoos and think they're very beautiful. I don't think God will mind if they have a purpose. Whenever I get the chance I want a couple. I want to get my family's Coat of Arms, a cross over my heart that has a banner wrapped around having my parents names on it, a picture of the Virgin Mary with the bottom of it my sister's name(which is the same name of my deceased grandmother and grand aunt. So it's for them to) and one for my half brother(he's like a brother to me). He's a part Irish so I might get a three leaf clover with his name wrapped around like a circle. I might change the ideas a bit, but I'm going to get them sooner or later(hopefully in the next couple of years, when I'm a bit older). All of them have a deep meaning to me.
