Here is one of the Laws of God.
It is not an option.

Leviticus 19:32;
"“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord."

God is calling on respect to your elders, regardless who they are or their position in life.
There are blessings from God that goes along with this.

Respect me I respect you.

Respect me I respect you.
You're speaking to God, not me.
It's his rule.
If you don't want to obey God, then what are you doing here?
We are all here in supporting each other to obey God.

Acts 10:34;
"Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism,35but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.…"

Do you hear that?
You do not fear God or do what is right.
He shows you no favor.

Why?
Because you are demanding he show you respect before you show him respect.
If your parents don't teach you anything, then start listening here.

Brock, you're gonna hafta grow up in your thinking or no one will listen to you
Disobeying your parents (not showing them respect) is one of the Ten Commandments.

For about 6 years I dealed with my moms abuse rarely ever talking back, I obeyed her. But I got tired of being her punching bag so here I am, talking to you.

Hi PZ
Pencils are not supposed to have sharp points...it means they're not being used...
I like that. I'll remember it.

What you've posted above is what I was hoping Brock would think of.
Learning helps us to think.
It helps us not to be a machine.
If we depended on Prof. Google for everything, eventually our brains would become useless...like the sharpened pencil.

Teens are lazy today...is it laziness? Or something else?
We're all lazy to learn a little when we're young. We see it as a chore.
As we get older it becomes something we enjoy, but by then it's too late.
Work, family, responsibilities - we can't concentrate on learning as we did as young persons.

Teens today have been born into the computer age. Games that move fast. Answers on the spot. Reaching a friend in a moment at any time. This has all caused them have a low attention span. It makes them feel bored because teaching is moving too "slow".
I'm sure you've noticed that many lessons in school books look like a computer page. So we're actually submitting to the problem! OTOH, what to do? Their minds are moving faster than ours were.

Suicide on the rise...sure, they feel disconnected from life.

Well, we have the problems,
where are the solutions???
Short of Jesus' return there will be no solutions. Only patch ups and bandaids. :/

Nobody promised you a rose garden
sounds to me you have it easier than I did
but then again, we are all different and handle our lives differently
to be fair, no one should judge you for what you feel

But God's word is always the answer
If what anyone says is not for you, at least listen to the verses of Scripture we quote to you
God will always be there for you in every trial if you let him.

I Timothy 4:12 KJV
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

It does not say forget them old codgers.
Romans 7:24 KJV
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Could we say (O wretched boy (Brock) that I am)?

One of my favorite verses is:
Romans 7:25 KJV
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

This verse is not an excuse to do wrong behaviors though. It should grieve me / you / anyone when the flesh cuts up. We are not excused to do wrong things,

We have not found a loophole to be obnoxious. I understand we want excuses, but we do not have them.

If Brock has the quickening presence of Christ in him, it should cause:
“be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

The Holy Spirit punches me about this:
(Holiness is good from the inside out).

I can be as mean as a junkyard dog. The chain bites when I take the slack out of God’s love chain. (Peter heard get thee behind me Satan). Peter also got praise (flesh and blood has no revealed this to you).

Getting good information from bad people.

John 11:45 KJV
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
46 But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

The priests were planning to kill Jesus. These are bad people.
But
God used the high priest to prophesy a truth.

During our lives we will sometimes get truth from bad authority. God is God and if he chooses to speak through a donkey he will (google it).
So
Brock’s job:
Discern when the most unlikely people (in your thoughts) are telling you the truth.

Do not ask me why. I do not know right now. Probably to help us not get an over the top additude about ourselves. We have to crucify our ego, and give Jesus the credit.

In the flesh this may be true. The final trump brings the final change of the flesh.

In the spirit we are in good shape now. If we believe Pentecost and the quickening spirit Jesus became.

teenage suicide is on the rise. We are not in good shape. People are walking into schools with guns and shooting children. In my school, they have wired it for security, and are putting in a bullet proof barrier for the office staff. Kid who simply have the misfortune of genetics get picked up and bullied in our schools. We are teaching our kids that you can be a boy or a girl or neither or both.

This OP is about teenage problems. There are plenty of problems to choose as the issues teens face are many. Even in "better times" teens faced growing up issues.

Still, we don't give up. We pray. We get involved and try to work hard to make a better world. We live as salt and light in a world that chooses to swim in a cesspool of ideas while right next to that pool is clear water.

Physical death is in the concrete area. Job lost his children physically, but not spiritually,

While physical death is in no wise good, it is a type of separation from God for eternity that is the ultimate reality.

With Jesus in us, though the flesh dies the resurrection will bring true life.

You can say that about everyone. We're all wretched people in Gods eyes.
We are saints of the Most High. He is for us and loves us. He's the Prodigal Father who longs for us. He's the Hound of Heaven that peruses us. Christians are not wretched in God's eyes. That's a lie our churches have told us far too long.

And many frogs are green. But not with envy. It's just the color God chose for them.

WE think we're wretches. Not God's idea.
To help teen problems.

Doctrine becomes an issue.

John the baptists baptism of repentance had two aspects:
1. Sin to be confessed
And the solution the father had for us
I Peter 2:24

2. Righteousness in believing in the on that came after him.
...,,,,,
Romans 7:25 shows the dual nature of man.
1. Our flesh
2. Our mind

Let this mind be in you (mind of Christ).

I wasn't talking about God I was talking about my parents.
Soooo

You don't think that God gave you the parents you have for a good reason?

That God should say, "Sorry, they are the wrong ones for you. I made a mistake"

Really?

After all it's just your immortal Soul at stake as well as God's holy nature
