Lets see how Jesus feels about seeking common ground, and this was in the early stages of his ministry..

John 2:14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

Scriptures teach us that we're not to have fellowship with the works of darkness but reprove them, maybe Rick missed that because here we see him saying this about their god..

we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world

This is just the tip of the iceberg in the unity/ecumenical movement..

tob

That is an incorrect analogy regarding common ground. In driving out the money changers from God's temple, Jesus was enforcing basic religious values among His own fellow Jews, whose profiteering was an abomination in His Father's house. Here Jesus was not reaching out to those of other faiths. For that you need to look at how He interacted with Samaritans.

The money changers are in today's churches and its getting worse, its turning into a circus, if Jesus were to walk into the church by the side of the road and saw some of these light shows to entertain his people what do you think he would do? there's a lesson here Sinthesis, if you think this lesson pertains to that one event then i don't have an answer for you..

Dear Brother turnorburn, in the video below I don’t hear one thing said by Rick Warren supporting his alliance with anything Jon Stallsmith says. Do you have any video where Rick Warren says that God and Allah are the same? I may just be missing it, but over the years I’ve come to the point I want proof beyond some article on the web. Thanks

Stallsmith maintains that a rapprochement between Muslims and Christians can be achieved by the fact that Jesus is mentioned twenty-five times in the Quran.

The Chrislam movement has gained impetus by statements from President George W. Bush and that Christians, Jews, and Muslims all worship the same God and by Rick Warren’s reference to Isa (the Muslim name for Jesus) in his prayer at the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Only 30 percent of Americans have a favorable view of Muslims, according to a Pew Forum poll. At the same time, more than half the country says they know “not very much” or “nothing at all” about the Islamic faith.

Video - http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=1366

“The recent political developments and the fact that we’re fighting two wars in Muslim countries should sharpen that need to know how to talk to these guys,” Stallsmith insists “We want to find peace, reconciliation around a scriptural understanding of Jesus.”

Jesus in the Quran is neither the only-begotten Son of God nor the Messiah who was divinely appointed to restore the House of David. He is rather viewed as a prophet who was appointed by Allah to prepare mankind for the coming of Mohammad.”

It appeared to me in the video that Rick purported to support missions of relieving human suffering such as with doctors, nurses, hospitals, water supplies, etc. I did not see any support by Rick Warren wanting Christians to worship Allah. As for his efforts for peace, unless I'm wrong I see no problem with him addressing those people; Jesus ate with the unrighteous and how are they to hear without a preacher? Rom 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. :shrug

Believe it or not, I went to a supposed "church", once, where they actually had carpets, used microphones and electric lights... not to mention Air Conditioning and padded pews. And worse than that, right there in the building, they had water coolers and indoor bathrooms. I mean, REALLY, going to the bathroom right there in the Holy, Sanctified House of God.

And I'm not sure, but I think the organ was electric, too.

Hi Eugene, Is this what your looking for?

From Jim Hinch: Saddleback Church in Orange County, California, home to super-pastor Rick Warren (Obama inauguration, Purpose Driven Life, etc.) has joined forces with Southern California mosques to adopt a three-step plan for ending enmity between evangelical Christians and Muslims.

The plan’s first step calls for Muslims and Christians to recognize they worship the same God. Interfaith reconciliation has been proceeding for years between Muslims and more liberal-leaning mainline Protestant denominations.

We knew this was coming i learned about the one world apostate church shortly after i was saved back in the 70's i suppose after time the things of this world distract us, take this unity movement it started long ago but became a reality in the 60's when the ecumenical movement began, what i found here is just one of the whores of its mother.

Those folks in the temple were merchandisers, haven't you found this to be the case that when we read scripture, we read it once, then we will read the same scripture again at a later date and the Lord will show us something else it pertains to, and we say, I've not seen it like that before, merchandisers can merchandizing anything. After i replied to Sinthesis last night i was abrupt in my answer it was late and i was tired, so this morning i did a search, using this search engine https://duckduckgo.com/ i entered "Is Rick Warren a merchandiser" now you try it and see what i found..

This is the same site that posted an article saying that the tickets to see Joel Osteen's "Night of Hope" were selling for up to $850.00. Well they were but not by him. It was a ticket sale site where people are basically scalping tickets to all kinds of things. I went to Osteen's site and found out they only use ticket master. There were second row seats available for around $25-$30.
So I'd try to verify info. on this site before believing it as absolute truth.
Why does Joel Osteen have to sell tickets for $25-30 each?
He sells out everywhere.
Why not just take a love offering as Billy Graham and Carman have always done.
They trusted in God to meet their needs.
Why doesn't Joel Osteen do the same?
Can somebody tell me?
Is he part of Chrislam?

I don't understand the tickets sales thing either. The only thing I can think of is that they rent such large and expensive venues. It still seems excessive to me. They know they will get a large crowd.

But I feel very much the same when I hear pastors say to the poor and elderly that they must give the church their tenth of their gross and trust God to bring in the extra they need to pay their bills or buy their meds because the church relies on their tenth to pay the churches bills. Why doesn't the pastor trust God to pay the churches bills (his salary) like he expects them to? :shrug Seems to me he should set the example of trust. He is saying one thing and doing another.
This is a bad witness to the world. It is a bad witness when Christian people can't or don't pay their bills on time. No one will ever convince me that is what Paul is saying in the NT. He says quite the opposite. The church is suppose to take care that all members needs are met not take away the little that they have.

The problem today is that many churches are "pay as you go" churches.
Every thing these churches offer, you pay for it.
It has spread to Africa where young charismatic preachers are raking in a bundle, just like America.

Hi and thanks Brother turnorburn, but no, this same "Now the End begins" is making the accusations aided by Jim Hinch this time around. Please show me Rick Warren preaching that Islam and Christianity are the same. I'm certain that I may disagree with many of the doctrines Rick Warren professes, but is he my brother or a Muslim? And then where am I to take it? Paul said the following concerning the preaching of Jesus' name: Php 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

At least you haven't mentioned the 'sacrilege of singing'!:sohappy

Lets try this Eugene I'll look for for the information you want and you look for a speech where the pope says he loves the Lord Jesus and that salvation comes through him and him alone and we'll meet back here and compare notes. Muslims worship Allah the moon God we worship the God of the bible and this man is working on a marriage proposal between the two, that's way the new world church is coming together.. if you feel the Lord is leading you to join this movement that's between you and the Lord, myself i believe this is the part of the system the Lord Jesus is coming to destroy with the brightness of his coming..

This is an interview that went on between the writer of the article and Rick Warren through emails.
Either the man (Warren) is an out and out liar or he never said or even insinuated what the original secular newspaper article said. I so much despise when Christian GOSSIP about each other instead of speaking personally with that person. Christians continue to kill their own people and their ministries.

:) Brother turnorburn, I belong to the one church and that is the body of Christ. I came from Catholicism and no, I have no feelings of joining any movement instituted by man. As for the wicked one to be revealed, I do not believe it to be the churches aligned with him, and even those involved sons of God entrapped within them are given the invitation to come out of her in Rev 18:4 lest they suffer the plagues to come upon her. Thanks for any real information you find.

Unfortunately it is not just the charismatic preachers that are doing this. The preacher that heard say that was a Baptist and not charismatic at all.
I saw a you tube this past year on this.
It was scary.
These poor people get saved and then start throwing all they have at these preachers and they become rich like our tv preachers here.

Corruption in high places within Christianity is so great, that if you come across it by chance as I have, it makes you down right mad!!!
