[ Testimony ] Testimonies, so many and so few?

I love reading and hearing about the things God does and is doing. It's also written that testimonies help us over come. There are instruction telling us to past along the wonderful things the Lord does for us. And considering that He uses the things that happen in our lives to teach us, it absolutely amazes me that the testimony section of Christian forums is not overflowing with posts. I wish I could change that. So I guess I need to add some testimonies. I hope you like them.

I used to be a retail manager and is was needing to hire a couple of employee. So I asked the Lord to help me hire a couple of people. I picked up about 100 applications and put my hand on each application without looking at it, and I ask the Lord if I should hire that person. I had gone through about 70 applications when I heard His voice say, "That One". It's always weird when you suddenly pick up His small quiet voice. So I put that application aside and kept going and with about ten applications left again I heard Him say, "That One".

The first thing I did was look at them to make sure their schedule was open and part time was ok. I used to get rid of two thirds of the applications that way, but these two were fine. In fact when I looked closer they would certainly have been applications I would have considered. The odds of that had to be about one in a hundred.

Now I was excited because I was going to get two nice hard working Christian employee, or so I thought. I was about to get a lesson on how God's thoughts are not our thoughts. I brought the first one in to interviews. Everything looked great until the very end. The last job she had was making a selling jewelry. It turned out she was making and selling spiritual stones to New Age shops and such. I think my jaw must have hit the floor. "OH GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" exploded in my head.

So I thanked her at told her I would give her a call. Then I went to my office to check the spirit. The Spirit checked out. I wanted a nice hard working honest Christian employee, the Lord wanted an opportunity to help this person out. So I called her up and she was excited to get the job.

Then I told the Lord that the spirits influencing her would fine out what He was up to and drive her away. I was about to get a lesson in making confessions of poor faith to the Lord. Now I think about it, He could have hid his plans from any demon. Anyway, she did call back and turn the job down. I tried to talk to her about her reasons, but while she said she did need a job and it seems to be a good job she said she just couldn't take it.

So I brought in the next person. This one certainly would be good. She had worked on summer in a well respect Christian church. She interviewed great and she took the job. She was very good at it too.

A few weeks had gone by when one day while I was walking by her check stand the Lord suddenly spoke to me saying, "ask her where she is from". I told the Lord, "Look at her. She is from around here.", but then I figured I should do what He asked.

"Where are you from", is all I said and suddenly I got this long response.

"Oh, I am from Russia, My dad brought us over hear because of religious persecution. We are Jewish. Well... my dad is Jewish, my sister is Christian, and I am Pagan," was her answer.

"Pagan", I asked, "What do you mean by Pagan".

"Well, I cast spell and read tarot cards." was her explanation.

I left it for then and of course started up a long conversation with my Lord. "I thought I was going to get nice Christian employees but you are getting me demonize people", I told Him off.

HIs response was, "Karl, her sister has me to help her and isn't putting her under you a pretty good way to do it."

The problem with talking to God is that He always makes sense and more sense than I do. He just doesn't do things like I think He should.

Of course hiring a Pagan Jewish girl from Russia because the Lord told me didn't finish the story!

I got a chance to talk to her one evening after we closed the store. I told her, "Look, there are two sides to the spiritual realm."

She responded by saying "I don't think so. My sister is Christian and she doesn't see anything. I see lots of things happen in the spiritual realm."

"Well I don't now about your sister but I see lots of things happen. I have seen people get healed, I had been taken out of my body, and lots more. And I believe like your sister." was my explanation. But besides being informative the conversation didn't really take us anywhere.

So I got in my car to drive home and suddenly I picked up a clear voice telling me, "God never wins."

"GO AWAY", I told that spirit. I can't hard believe that an evil spirit would really have the nerve to just suddenly tell me God never wins, like I am not going to know it is a demon. Anyway, I hadn't told it to leave in Jesus's name or anything like that so it didn't leave right then.

"I am going to kill you" was the next things I heard with my spiritual ears.

The Lord had once told me that Satan can't do anything that God doesn't let Him. Remember Satan couldn't do anything to job that God didn't give him permission to do. And I told that demon that. Then I felt something like two finger squeezing my throat which caused a strangulation feeling. But it was just a feeling, so I told the demon that he was going to have to press harder, but he couldn't and took off.

Wow, that girl really was hooked up with a power evil spirit that was pretty upset with me talking to her about the Lord. Still they indeed can't do anything to us that God doesn't allow. It was an interesting experience that prove what the Lord had told me.

Of course a little battle didn't finish the story. I decided to ask God to hide her tarot cards.

A few weeks went by. She was doing a great job for us. She was friendly. She worked hard. She was smart. She was a bit strange but in a fun kinda way. Still, we hadn't talked much more about the Lord and I didn't know if the Lord had answered my prayer about hiding her tarot cards. I was about to learn another lesson about doubting where God answers our prayers.

So I finally asked her if she had been using her tarot cards lately.

"No, I can't find them", was her response "I'll have to start looking for them", she explained.

Ok, God had answered my prayer and I goofed by doubting Him. Now she was going to really going to want them and I know gives people the desires of their heart. Instantly I knew I messed up. So I explained that I had asked God to hide the cards from her, which was why she hadn't been finding them lately. But if she really wanted them I was sure He would let her have them. And she did. She went back to using them.

So I repented again for messing things up and I asked Him what I should do.

"Karl, I want you to asked her to read her tarot cards. I will take them over." came the response I heard.

I checked that spirit using 1 Jn 4:1-3 and 1 Cor 12:3. It checked out. He explained that He could take over the tarot cards and communicate with her, which would show her that He was God. He told me to tell her what was going to happen before it happened.

So I talked with her and asked her if she could read her tarot card tonight, and explain the Lord God was going to take them over. It caught her interest and she agree to do it. That was on a Monday.

Like a sequel, I need to finish this testimony.

I saw her again on Wednesday. I was heading home about the time she was coming in. I asked her if she had read her tarot cards and she said she had.

She explained, "I first asked the cards if I should read them, and they said yes. Then I ask them about you and they said I should continue talking to you."

Humm?? I thought to myself. What does that all mean. I got in my car heading home and started talking to the Lord. He explained that since He had asked her to read the cards He was certainly going to tell her to read them right then. And since He wanted to do a lot more in her life He told her to keep talking to me.

Ok, that I understood. But I never heard from her again

I she was off then I had a weeks vacation. When I came back I found out that she had quit. The last thing I ever heard from her was that she was supposed to keep talking to me, and she knew the instruction was from God. God had glorified Himself, showing that He was more powerful than the spirits she was turning to, but at that time she could do what He asked.

I prayed for her so much and so many times since then. I believe that God is going to cause that seed to grow. I can't believe that she will again think her sisters God is not more powerful than her gods. She is going to have to consider all that happened, but it still seemed so sad. I can't wait to see her in heaven to find out the real ending, but I have cried at the thought she might not be there.

What can we do but to ask the Lord about the things in our lives, like who to hire, and follow the instructions He gives us. And it is nice to know that He is more powerful that those demons that say they will kill us. That Russian Jewish girl will certainly wind up in heaven because our God has people like her Christian sister praying for her.

I usually do not come into the testimony forum even though I should, but this one caught my eye. So many times we question those commands God gives us, but we must always trust that His ways are not our ways as He is always in control knowing better than we the things that need done here on earth. When we let God be God then peoples lives can change. All we are asked is to plant the seeds of faith which is Christ Jesus and God will bring in the harvest.
