Mark 16:16-18 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, an if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
Considering the above verses; this part of a Christian forum should be the most exciting part. I love the little testimonies too, where some nice encounter with God occurred. In fact I find those really fun to read, because God is so much more than the verse above suggests. He is so very personal. Yet when the things mention above occur it shows God is not just 'kinda' there but really involved, and according to the verses above believers should be seeing those signs.
Now I don't come across snakes where I live, and I try to avoid drinking any poison, but the rest - wow1 God is awesome.
Weekly, because of the ministry the Lord has me in, I see the rest. Let's see - last week my group prayed for two people (it was a bit slow) we saw one person hear the small voice of the Lord for the first time, and we saw one person healed. Neither had come in for physical healing, but relationship problems, but we got a word about one needing physical healing which they did have and they were healed.
The week before was busier. One person accepted the Lord and heard His small voice for the first time, another person got healed, and again they had not mentioned it but the Lord told us about it. (It's call a healing ministry and it amazes me how many times people come in for prayer and don't about their physical problem) That time was interesting, because when we ask her how bad her pain level was on a scale of 1 to 10 she said it was a seven. She was in a lot of pain. She left without pain. And two others got the gift of tongues.
Those are typical weeks. Some healing, some finding and hear from the Lord for the first time, some gifts being distributed. It's all pretty standard stuff in that ministry, which is not to mean God does any of it in a pretty standard way. He always does things in incredible ways. And you are never sure what all happen.
He'll have you praying for things which seem to stir up the person being prayed for, but what did it mean. Last week, before we finished with one person, the Lord had me just pray over a persons stomach, that anger would leave and healing would take place. The person did not mention anything about needing healing in their stomach or about having a problem with anger, and the Lord did not lead me to asks him about that, but rather the Lord just wanted me to pray that way. Clearly the man was greatly effected by the prayer. God rocked him. But did a demon get cast out or did a stomach get physically healed. I don't know. Something happened. That was clear. But what happened was not clear.
What does seem clear is that the verses in the Bible are correct. Yet so few testimonies like that are posted here??
