I actually sort of see what you are saying now. Since God is the Father He will know the path that we decide to take.

Yes, you got it. It's like the Jihad Muslims today that use their own children as a killing machine to come against those who are of God.

God didn't choose us before the foundation of the world because he knew we would choose Him. God choose us for His own sovereign purpose....Why does God choose some for salvation and not others? I don't know.

It probably has to do with the fact that He gave us free will.

That is not so HR, Election is according to God's sovereign will, and are of good and righteous grounds that all will admit, But it has not pleased Him to reveal His Divine motives in Election. (Rom. 9:11-24).
Election, according to the foreknowledge of God, like predestination, is declared to be, according to the foreknowledge of God (1 Pet. 1:2), but Scripture nowhere declares what it is in the Divine foreknowledge of God that determines the Divine choice.. It is certain, however, that Election is not determined by the Divine foreknowledge of any merit of the chosen one, for Election is expressly determined to be by Grace (Rom. 9:11; 11:5-6). Neither is it Biblical to say that Election is by the Divine foreknowledge of the obedience of faith in the chosen, for "Election" is "unto obedience and sprinkling of The Blood of Jesus Christ" (1 Pet. 1:2).
And, Paul's labors were to the end that the "Elect" might obtain Salvation (2 Tim. 2:10). The relation of God's Foreknowledge to His Electing Grace is, therefore, an unrevealed relation.

This thread is about to close... the 2000 year old battle will not be resolved here ...

just use the other forums for the battle

Concerning salvation...I don't believe we have free will.
Concerning what shoes you're going to wear....we do.

The "battle" reba mentioned is between whether or not we freely "choose" Jesus to be saved....or if God chooses us to be saved...then in our salvation we freely and willfully come to Jesus.

The good thing is your salvation isn't decided upon which one you believe....as most people who are saved probably never heard of either when they became born again.

Most people who study the free-will issue will flip flop back and forth as they uncover new understandings....eventually settling on one side of the issue.
The forum "battle" is interesting because if you participate it forces you into the bible where you dig deep into certain verses to support your theology and doctrines.

I'm sorry but I strongly disagree with you on this one. The Bible even talks about the fact that we can either choose to accept or reject God.

Chapter and verse please that supports your opinion.

For starters if it hasn't been granted by the Father to come to Christ....I don't care how much free-will you think you have...you won't be able to choose Jesus.
John 6:65 And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

I don't know if reba will allow this discussion to continue as it is now off your original topic...so you might want to start a new thread....or maybe reba will give us the OK to continue.

The age of accountability topic is better suited in a different forum Theology woud be my guess. ....
We try and keep the long battles out of Bible Study and Foundations of Faith.. THANKS

Ok, do you want to move it for me then?

Hi Ris, babes go to heaven for sure.
What is the age of accountability?
Only God knows for sure.
I cried out to God that I wanted to die so I could be with him forever and not feel anymore pain.
I was two years old being rocked on a rocking chair with my mother.
I suffered and she told me all about Jesus and heaven and no more pain.
Was I saved at two?
I believe I was.
God kept me alive til I was ready to make a commitment as an adult.
So who can say for sure.
