How Ron Wyatt found the Ark of the Covenant as told by Kent Hovind. Although this hasn't been documented, I'd say it's real. Ron Wyatt is a nice bloke - I wouldn't accuse him of lying, and neither would Hovind. Also, apparently the elders in Israel know about this find as Hovind shows in the video.

YouTube - ‪The Ark of the Covenant found!!‬‏

This subject, as well as many subjects Jewish in nature, always fascinated me.

Ron Wyatt is an interesting man (actually, he's deceased now). I never quite knew what to make of him. However, a testimony from a close companion that worked with him attested to his good character, so I don't have any reason to believe he was deliberately lying. However, the same companion made the comment that he was the type of guy that could fire up the imagination with his stories. The impression I got was that of a boy who wanted to find treasure. And the boy always finds it, but his parents know it's not real treasure, but it is to the boy. That's the type of person I got the impression that Ron Wyatt was.

Nevertheless, although my jury is out yet, I find that his theory as to where it is located to be one of several I heard over the years. His theory was what I call "local" where it is nearby, just as the Jews (c.f. those of the templeinstitute.org) who claim to also know where it is at and local theories usually claim it's still right near where the temple stood.

Then there's what I call "regional" theories where it is hidden, perhaps in a cave, just outside the promised land. The Ethiopian theories are of the most well known.

Lastly, there's the "remote" theories such as Jeremiah bringing a chest with him when he transferred the throne of King David to where the lost house of Israel resided. Irish lore had it that Jeremiah had a chest with him when he set foot there at his destination. However, there was also ANOTHER ark I found out about while studying this topic that was not overlaid with gold. This ark, according to Jewish information, was a plain wooden box so maybe that's the one that Jeremiah took with him.

It's anyone's guess.

Ya know, anther thing I want to mention is I bet this will be another thread that will eventually fall by the wayside. I even tried starting one on the ark one time and you get a few comments and then it dies out.

Frankly, this is more interesting to me than the pages and pages of debates about free choice vs. predestination, or the nature and divinity of Christ etc etc.

Subjects such as the Ark, the pyramids, Stonehenge, UFO's and similar esoteric stuff and how they relate to the bible are interesting --- with maybe a hint of a scary bedtime story to it or something that takes place behind the scenes. Also, some science adds to the mixture.

My favorite Ark story would be "Indiana Jones and the lost ark"
Sorry kidding aside

I have not read the Ethiopian theories myself just a few specials on TV. I hope they do have it, I like the idea that it is under the protection of a Christian Church.

ok and what would the jews do with this, surely the jewish state and or rabbinical jewish orthodox community would love there hands on that.

yet i hear nothing .the copts have claimed that for yrs.

imo....Searching for the ark of the covenant is a slap in the face of Christ.
so was the finding of the dead sea scrolls. is that not also part of the jewish past when they had right standing with God?

if i was an archeologist i would be exstatic if it was found. as a christian surely we could then see what the bible described the mercy seat and where god communed with the priests. hmm God talking to man through the mercy seat, well i will be that is messianic in nature to.

The mercy seat was where the presence of God was in the Holy of Holies.

I kinda think God escaped from there when the vail was rent. (That is how i remembered it as a kid)

I see Christ as the arc. Christ is the covenant... that kind of thinking. I doubt the arc Moses made is around to be found.

if i was an archeologist i would be ecstatic!
for sure!

actually no.

its on the arc tween the wings of the two angels and the holy of holies was in the tabernacle that was built in the days of moses.

there was inner curtain and then an outer curtain, and also well some other lining up isreal that points to the four creatures in revalation and the very gospel itself and the visions of ezekiel.

the man, the eagle, the bear, the lion.

Num 7:89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.

Lev 16:2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.
This is the reason i refer to His presence being on/in the mercy seat..... I did not mean like He was setting on it, like we set in a chair... Chair ... Chair...:chair

:lol sorry. i had to giggle. the temple vail where the sacrifices were performed that seperated the priest was made as a replacement for the holy of holies. the arc was lost after the exile, not in ad 70.

you had the gentile court. the outer court, the porch of solomon and then the inner sanctuary where the sacrifices were made, and also where zacharias was having that talk about john the baptist was that place.

Yes i know the arc was long gone at the time of Jesus.

Back i 1959 we had a 'model' of the Moses' tabernacle. The thing sat on a table it was good size.. ( I know the difference between Moses tabernacle and the temple)

It was not made in the correct materials but in the correct colours and to scale. The 'tent' roof was 'missing' on a corner so one could see inside. View the layout of the furnishings. I do wish i could remember more of the teaching i was about 12 and the looking at the model not listing....I do not remember if the outer court was shown

as Lucy says to Ricky splane

One of the hardest Bible stories for me, as a kid, was the 2 guys who died because they touched the arc to keep it from falling...

How about Davids tabernacle?

david's tabernacle was the one that was rebuilt as the first one was lost in conquest as only the arc was found and brought back by the cows.

remember the philistines kept i at the temple of dagon(ekron) and each time God knocked dagon over and they sought the magicians and were told to give the arc back and how do it.
