Both of my girls are in Girl Scouts and their leaders have all been mother/daughter teams. I have no problem at all with them. Now, there was a time that there was a gay scout leader (she was leader of the older girls) and I was concerned. I never voiced my opinion though because My girls weren't in her troop and I knew nothing about her. But, she's no longer there, so I don't know what happened.

BTW....I am an official Adult Girl Scout. I know...I'm a nerd.
I wanted to volunteer in their troops though, so I just went ahead and signed up. I'm also used as a fill in when the leader(s) can't be there.

Can someone please delete my duplicate post above this one please?

I know so very little about them so I can't say.

I was a cub or boy scout for a few weeks when I was a kid, but I don't remember much about it.

scouts

I was a boy scout and all my children were girl scouts and my wife was scout director for several troops.

I was a boy scout and religious wise our troup was very generic.

They had a Mormon group for the Mormons and my undestanding is that the Mormons may have infletrated the Boy Scouts a tad.

The Deciples Of Christ chruch I attended had a alternative Pioner Club. That chruch has left Deciples of Christ on the gay issue and they are now nondemoninational.

I heard the Girl Scouts do not discriminate against gays and atheists like the Boy Scouts does. So there may be a difference there.

I enjoyed my time in the Boy Scouts. However, I would not want it endorsed by the government because that would be the government endorsing discrimination.

I did boy scouts and hated it, but I'm usually a non-outdoorsy person and I hate camping.

Hate camping?! How can you hate camping?! We're going camping to Hunting Island, SC this summer.

Usually we stay at a nice resort, but we're saving money. It won't be too bad though because we're taking my parents pop-up, so we'll have electricity, air conditioning and we bring the 13 inch tv, microwave, dorm size fridge, etc....

I used to be a boy scout/

they were far too religous for me. Mind you I was 8.. I didnt like being told that I was wrong (our scout leader wasnt very nice i guess)

I'm a Girl Guide Leader, I love it :fadein: We're having an international sleepover tonight, to teach our girls little about our world centers.

I was never in the boy scouts, but from what I have heard and seen it is an excellent organization for young people.
