I'm vexed over my cell phone upgrade options. I've been watching with great anticipation the previews of the up coming LG V20, and I'm hanging in balance to see how Sprint prices this baby with 2-year installments. With its 32-bit quad dac built in, the sound system is getting rave reviews. I love my Spotify, so I'm hanging on for this.

I do like what LG does with its devices, and I'm not a Samsung guy, but the S7 Edge is a close plan B if the V20 is priced too high. I just wish it had a removable battery. The V20 does. This is one of the reasons I've always ruled the iPhone out, and now it seems to be the trend with androids.

Does anyone have the S7 Edge? How do you like it if you do?

I would also take a look at if there is a sd card slot on the phone you are considering. I believe all of the LG phones have it in the battery compartment, but my wife's samsung S6 is only expandable if you buy an adapter.

How crazy is that? You have to buy an adapter in order to use a sd card.

Jason's right. That's the Samsung Note 7. How unfortunate for Samsung that both phones have a 7 in them. That is one hot mess.

Knotical the V20 definitely has expandable storage with the micro SD slot. Expandable storage is a must for me. Apps are only getting bigger. The only things some people are disappointed about are no wireless charging, and it's not water proof. I never use wireless charging, and I've never put my phone under water intentionally or not. I don't care about that either.

maybe this is the one for you ...

Saw an article describing the features of the new Google Pixel. All I have to say is, meh. Sure it has a pretty nice camera, but that is really the only thing setting it apart from its field, at least until someone else comes out with a phone with a similar or better camera. When it comes to the other features I will pass.

The docking port is a new design, which is slightly different from the micro usb that many smart phones are using now, which means you will need a dedicated power cord for this phone. Also, even though it boasts a 15 minute full charge time the battery life is only 7 hours. That is less than half of my current LG G4 (18+hours).

Lastly, it uses biometrics via a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, but for me that is problematic as I would want to buy a drop proof case which would make that little feature a bit cumbersome to use.

Nice try Google, but no thanks.

BTW, it looks like a Google version of the iPhone.

All I know is that I'm in need of a new phone... problem for me is durability.

Construction sites are rough on speakers and the cases make them like carrying a brick. But I use mine for keeping in touch with the boss including prints and pics of work. Makes it handy like a tablet.
Sound? What sounds?

Agreed. With no removable battery or expandable storage, meh... Plus, they have only offered it directly from them or Verizon. I don't buy groceries from Sharper Image, and I don't pay Verizon prices. My gosh, they are expensive!

These new devices are priced crazy, like $800! Who pays these prices?? That's insane! Renewing my 2 year contract thru Sprint, I can get the Samsung flagship Galaxy S7 Edge for $200. That's my ceiling. I'd never buy them at cost. But I get that some people would say $200 for a phone is insane, too. I use my phone all the time, so $200 over 2 years is tolerable for me.

My hope is that, in order to compete, Sprint will have a great deal similar to the Edge for the V20.
Jaci is never off topic
Yes, we read that the first time you posted it. :winkStill off topic!

The V20 is built with a military grade construction, so it's supposed to be very durable.

Actually the Pixel does have a sd card slot on the side of the phone, so they do have that going for them. But the other features are just not worth spending that amount.
