Yes, you can use a credit card. Its not the future because its hooked up to the Internet. Eventually, hackers will get to it when computers become fast enough. It uses an older technology to secure it. The rich store their bitcoins on computers in vaults that are not hooked up to the net in an effort to protect them. However, to spend their Bitcoins, they have to hook up to the net again. Competing electronic currencies have been started, and some nations are considering issuing their own electronic currencies.

Its all Internet based, so hackers are constantly trying to get at them. Most of the work to maintain the system (Bitcoin mining) is done by private individuals in places like China and Venezuela. Can you really trust them?
I watched the video.
It's a bit too much for me.
It probably will end up having hacking problems.
There's no good without the bad !

I just wonder if it's going to end up like Dell or Amazon, etc.
I could have been a millionaire !!
Maybe I'll be sorry in the future.
It went up 1,000%

Does that mean that if I bought $1. in bitcoins, I could be spending $1,000. right now??
My account would just automatically increase?

It's all very interesting.
I'll stop picking at your brain right after this...

Yes, you would have made a 1000 to 1 profit. If you buy $1000 worth now, maybe it will go to $1,000,000, and maybe it will go back to $1. You never know with something like that.

It was the same with McMansions around 2008. People bought in the early 2000s because McMansions kept making them a profit, but then the people that bought in 08 near the peak went backward instead.

No one knows how long the Bitcoin mania will last. Its not a guaranteed profit. You might go backward too.

Actually, if you had bought back on October 5, 2009 you could have gotten a Bitcoin for less than a penny (.08 penny). Now one Bitcoin is worth $17,293.67 That would be about a 216,170 to 1 profit. Your $1 would have automatically become $216,170.87 or so.

Must you tell me such things...
:hysterical

I always miss out!
Yeah, you have to know when to sell...
Thanks for all the info...

That guy who had 3500 bitcoins and dumped his hardrive years ago, it was probably like 30 cents a clinton or something, and is now spending all his time digging up a tip. Lol. He obviously never knew one bitcoin would reach 17k.

17000 x 3500 = 59500000

Is that 5 billion?

Better yet, neither of you missed out in salvation.
Celebrate the season!
And what season is that?
Wasn't it Paul who said he tried everything.
He tried being poor and he tried being rich, and rich was better.
Or something like that.

Jesus is the reason,
For the season.

It's OK to have money. As long as you don't love it.
The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
1 Timothy 6:10

59.5 million
Good Enough.

Even the mention of free salvation on a Christian website can't get people's minds off of money
Money is not bad AW.
It frees you up to not have to depend on the govt.
Many here in Italy must depend on the govt for their health.
I'm happy I don't have to.
Money, per se, has no value.
It's only value is in what it could get you .... freedom.

Why dont people walk there talk, go sell everything they have and give it to the poor. If talking about money and investments is so evil.
I know someone who did !
I live in a small town of about 5,000 population.
All Catholics around here but some, go figure, are really born again.
There's this guy that has no family and a steady job.
He gives all his money away to help others -- except what he needs to live.
He lives a very simple life and doesn't care for material things.
This is what God called him to do. He's obeying his master.
We can't all do this for different reasons.
We could only do our best...

Being responsible with our money is good enough, I think.

1. I never said money is bad. I was comparing Christian values between Jesus and money.
2. Money frees you from depending on God for everything and you become independent of God, not a good thing at all.
3. Italy depends on the government (That's how you spell it in case you were wondering) because the catholic church has failed them.
4. Do you share that happiness with your neighbor?
5. Money has much value, as a tool, if you have the knowledge and desire to learn how to use it correctly.
6. Money does not provide freedom. Jesus Christ provides freedom. They are not one and the same.

Thank you for the opportunity to express myself.
Hallelujah!

Could I check back with you in 20 yrs or so?
Always is a long time.
My son loved Quiet Riot, Dio, Black Sabbath, Ozzie Osborne, etc.
He hates them now!!

But, who knows, we're all different.

20 yrs from now I can be in the same profession as him so.
