This is the best answer yet to the OP. Defending that of a surety with full knowledge of truth that through love and patience we need to have for others that might not have yet come into all truths we present our self in all godliness bearing the fruit of knowledge as we are faithful with what God has given us through His Holy Spirit.
Aw you just a charismatic nut.

I read your post after answering wondering.

I Corinthians 10:10 kjv
Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

A study of biblical history can at times show error and other times support actions. You have to discern what to do. You are right though; the Holy Spirit must be the source.

To argue for physical Jerusalem violates Abraham’s looking for a city which was made by God.

Hebrews 11:10 kjv
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Faith is built on promises. Prophetic future sometimes instead of history.

I better shut up.

as one crazy nut for the Lord to another you are the redneck hickory nut in my nut house :lol

No, I never argue for the sake of arguing. I was not even the first to point out that his post seems to have nothing to do with the OP. Giving nothing more than Scripture says nothing, especially when it isn't clear as to how it relates to the OP. The OP was the simple question: "What is the difference between apologetics and witnessing/evangelism?" That's it, nothing more.

I believe all scripture is very clear especially if we read it for what it says word for word. What more other than scripture do we need for understanding that only comes by the Holy Spirit teaching us all God wants us to learn. Apologetic is defending truth while witnessing/ evangelism is taking the gospel out to the word testifying of Christ through His word and sharing our witness of Him.

It is almost never as simple as that.

We need men to teach us, as the Bible plainly lays out as the main method for our learning and understanding.

If you're not going to answer my questions, I'm not going to answer yours. Fair enough?

Answer or not the truth is Apologetics is used to correct false doctrine in the Church.

We need men to teach us, as the Bible plainly lays out as the main method for our learning and understanding.

Scripture is as simple for what is written if you let the Holy Spirit teach you. Man can teach us nothing apart from the Holy Spirit teaching the scriptures to them first. The problem is that many do not Spiritually discern that of what they are being taught and just take another's word as they put man's teachings above that of what the Holy Spirit wants to teach us, John 14:26; 1 John 4:1-6.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Fixed it for you: "Apologetics is used to correct my idea of your false doctrine in the Church."

Ok. Agreed.

Apologetics is used to teach God’s people the truth, to turn them from false doctrine and heresy.

Apologetics is teaching the truth of God’s word.

And I agree with both of those sentiments......... or maybe, it "should" be what you stated. I think it is kind of like the way we say, "the Bible is truth." It is, but IS IT, as it is interpreted by so many people?

Yes the truth of the scriptures has renewed my mind to the truth it represents.

I don’t have to be tossed around by every wind of doctrine.

If I truly allow what the scriptures teach and to tear down the strongholds of vain imagination’s and the false teachings of man made doctrine, I will continue to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, in which the Holy Spirit restores my soul and continually enlightens me with truth.

How about this?

Apologetics

1 Peter 3:15

15But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Evangelism

Luke 14:23

23 Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
perfect - simple - clear - thanks for this

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Scripture is as simple for what is written if you let the Holy Spirit teach you.
But it is almost never that simple.

Man can teach us nothing apart from the Holy Spirit teaching the scriptures to them first.
This doesn't really address my point. The Bible makes it pretty clear that God has gifted individuals to teach what He wants us to know. That is the primary method that the Holy Spirit uses to teach us.

The problem is that many do not Spiritually discern that of what they are being taught and just take another's word as they put man's teachings above that of what the Holy Spirit wants to teach us,
How do you know that many "put man's teachings above that of what the Holy Spirit wants to teach us"?

John 14:26; 1 John 4:1-6.
John 14:26 was spoken to and meant for the disciples. Through it, we have the writings of Scripture. What it is not is a statement that the Holy Spirit will teach all believers all things, apart from the work of the ministry of men whom God has gifted.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
This also is not a statement that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things, that we don't need anyone to teach us. What John is saying is that no one needed to teach them (those to whom he was writing) about things pertaining to salvation, as opposed to the false teachings that they were hearing. This is what the context shows us to be the case.

Wow, I guess there should be a place beside each verse that says "this is not for you" "this is for you"!!!
Two question, who taught those that preach the Gospel today and do you believe Spiritual gifts are for today as they were when the disciples received them?
