who here has said anything against the muslims who are standing up against isis?
I'm going to hope this is satire. This thread is called "The Evil of Islam." Not "The Evil of Extremism", or "The Evil of ISIS". Numerous posts have been made about how Muhammad was pedophile. The guy literally right above you has posted a YouTube video of racist, anti-islamic propaganda. This thread is made solely to [talk] about how bad Islam is as a whole religion, by people who do not understand Islam as a whole religion.
220 million should be able to over power isis quickly ...
I see you're American. America has a population of 350 million. If 220 million should overpower ISIS quickly, 350 million should do it straight away. What are you waiting for?

Oh, of course, that's a stupid thing to suggest.

But in the same fashion you lumped WBC with Christianity .. Seems Christians do not have the corner on hypocrisy .

We have to take the word of the thousands of Muslims screaming "allahu akbar" while slicing peoples' throats, and kidnapping and raping young girls in Nigeria, selling them as sex slaves. They probably know more about Islam as a whole religion than any non-Muslims here, including you or I. So, why should we not believe them when they say they're doing it in the name of Islam?

On the other hand, I can't think of the last time I've heard "Kill an infidel for Christ"

We're going around in circles here my friend. I've already explained this.

The WBC are christians. They are the Westboro Baptist Church. They follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and they believe he is the Son of Yahweh, or God. By definition, they are Christian.

To judge all Christians by the actions of the WBC is stupid. They ignore parts of the bible when it is convenient for them, and they deliberate misconstrue the parts they do choose to make them fit their agenda. In other words, they have created God in their image - the exact opposite of what so-called "True" Christians believe. With all due respect, you're wrong about what I've done. I have not lumped the WBC with Christianity.

ISIS and Boko Haram do the same thing. ISIS do not follow the Qu'ran, multiple people who have escaped from ISIS have said they barely care about religion at all. ISIS have forced people to convert, and then killed them anyway. Muhammad specifically stated to not kill anyone by Allah's punishment (fire), and they burned the Jordanian pilot anyway.

What I am saying, what I have said from the start, and what I will continue to say until it's no longer needed, is that this thread is full of hypocrites. I pointed out that extremists calling themselves Christians have committed atrocious acts in the name of their religion, and straight away I had two people telling me I was wrong, lying, young and foolish, misinformed, and that my points were totally ludicrous. I never lumped extremists in with Christians, I said that there are extremists operating as Christians and committing mass murder and terrorism, and provided examples when asked. The defense after providing these terrorists groups is that essentially boils down to "they don't represent Christianity."

What I am trying to understand is this. If, in the eyes of the people making such claims, Christian terrorists do not represent Christianity, why do Islamic terrorists represent Islam? That's where the hypocrisy comes in to play.

Let me ask you a question. When was the last time you personally heard a Muslim scream Allahu Ackbar while committing those acts? Not a media portrayal, but you actually witnessing it with your eyes and not through a TV screen.

Do you want to know why you have never heard "Kill an infidel for Christ"? Because the media is not trying to sell a war on Christians. It's trying to sell a war on Muslims, so that when the West flies forces out to ISIS, there is less public resistance. That does not mean it doesn't happen.

I'm going to hope you missed my first long post, and not that you read it and chose to ignore it. Because if you did read it, you would have seen the child soldiers and sex slaves that Christian fighters keep.

we see things differently ...
I know that. That's obvious.

I want to know why. Why do you see things the way you do?

And what makes you think those here do not understand Islam as whole? And since you make that claim, it would imply that you do understand Islam as a whole religion. Is that the case?

Of course, Islam isn't just a religion; it's a complete socio-economic and political system, which is why it is so bad and oppressive.

Of course most North Americams won't have heard it in person since Muslims are a minority. But what does it matter? There is no difference; it's all a matter of location. If one was in Paris on a certain day, in a certain place, they would have heard it. Many did. If one goes to Iran or Iraq right now, they will likely have a chance to hear it, and it may even be the last thing they hear. Hearing it in person or seeing it on TV, there is no difference, except quite possibly that in one instance you will still wake up the next day.

Or, another possibility, and even more likely, is that it just doesn't happen. The Qur'an says to kill infidels, the NT does not.

That does not mean it doesn't happen.
It doesn't mean that it doesn't happen but your saying so doesn't mean that it does. Unless you have proof of some sort.

Because if you did read it, you would have seen the child soldiers and sex slaves that Christian fighters keep.
Since the LRA clearly goes against the teachings of Christ, they are not Christian. Period.

Good post.

Before I start, let me preface by saying that I am neither Christian nor Muslim.
Okay, you're an Atheist or your an agnostic, most likely, thank you.
Apart from, you know, the entirety of the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
Okay, here is an honest mistake. You, it can be assumed, know not what a Christian is and what a pretender is. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15 & 23)
Let's not forget the WBC, who stand outside the funerals of dead soldiers and tell their relatives that their sons and daughters are burning in hell. Good thing they aren't around any more, hey?
There are two major groups of Christians, 1. the followers of Jesus, the Christ and 2. the religious Christians. The first group is what you will find on this web site and the second is found on every other web site I have ever been a member of. If you will read the first three chapters of the Bible you'll find that God created man (Adam and Eve) for the purpose of the fellowship, the same fellowship He enjoyed with Adam as they walked in the Garden in the cool the evening, after Adam had finished tending the garden that day.

So to understand the bible, you're telling me to not read the bible?
No that is you reading words, taking them out of context and, trying not to be rude but, you then corkscrewing what I said.

Well I suppose I could create a list, just for you. I'll even try to avoid the most obvious Ku Klux Klan killings.
Yes, you can, I can and anyone in the world, knowing what they are doing or not knowing can prepare an impressive list and they can even move to the chalk boark and mark one for them selves but to what end?

Even the blood suckers in the Klan chapters(?) call them selves Christians, they are liars but! Go around the world and you find Hindus murdering Christians, Buddhists, Islamists and you can find pretenders, calling themselves Christians but have no idea what the Book by God has to say of anything.

As recorded over the recent history of this web site, i can pull my picture, put up any avatar and claim to be black. I grew up in the Wards of Houston, Texas, the Hood, and in the fifties and sixties could run the dozens with any Black man until they lost it laughing at the honkey. I sang the Blues in several joints in Houston and was called the White N****r because I could wail Sam Cook, reputedly, as good as Sam, himself. If I was to go back down on Jensen in Houston and lets Miss May make me black again, only the hair would give me away, So, would I be or better yet when she put all that junk on my face, neck, hands, was I black or was i some white boy with no brains?

I have gotten drunk and had a bunch of beer and Bar-B-Que on Saturday afternoons but I( was still just a dumb white boy having a great time with friends, but I was never Black! The same is true of better than 98% of all the "Christians" in the American Church Body. (Source from the Barna group survey taken in the mid-eighties, before I was a Christian.)

And lets not forget all the abortion clinics that were targeted by Christian terrorists and doctors that were killed by Christian terrorists.
There is no such thing as a Christian Terrorist. The Wesboro people are neither Baptists nor are they, more importantly, any sort of a Christ follower, any more than I am Sam Cook. Believe me, I'm still trying to repent for being mad at Sam' s wife for killing him with that gun. good grief, he was only in bed with one girl!

I'll get flak from the adies here for saying that and I may need you to fly down here to protect me from them.

So, just to make sure I'm clear on where we stand:

1. Blanket statements applied to everyone except Christians - Okay.
2. Blanket statements applied to Christians - Not okay.

Because, I mean, the Qu'ran states that No one should be burned alive or tortured with fire, it condemns the killing of PoWs, or people tied up, or those in captivity, it says that enemy corpses should be returned, along with explicitly stating that residential areas should not be pillaged, plundered or destroyed, and teaches that Muslims should not touch the property of anyone except those fighting against them. (Source)
No but I am confused, why are you making my case instead of making the decrepit old fossil work for his point?

Ever since Dr. King was first my hero I have been busy trying to open the eyes of white men. I'm still at it. The Black American Muslim has some. very minor, issues they need to deal with but the Muslims of SE Asia, Arabia and, largely, NE and North Africa are a single people of another venue, entirely!

Before this stupid Multiple Sclerosis took my base and my guitars and my profession away I worked with a lot of Drivers that were from Arabia and SE Asia and every one of them admitted that Muhammad, or Mohammad (not sure) was the "Most excellent example of a man that every man must strive to become like."

They are completely aware that he married an eight year old girl but they are quick to defend him with, "But he did not ke love to her until she was nine!" In my world that is one sin sick pervert worthy of thee most horrible forms of death.

ISIS ignore all of these rules set out by the Qu'ran. But as is evident in this thread, people still consider ISIS to be true followers of Islam. So, I ask you, either acknowledge that Islam is a religion of peace and that extremists ruin that image by cherry-picking which parts of their religion to follow, or include all of the groups I've listed above as true Christians.

How about we wait until a conclusion is reached before we start acting superior, hmm?
There is no superiority to be found in this old man! i am a liar, a thief, an adulterer, and I' m guilty of quite a few other things things that send men to Hell! tThe difference between me and anyone else is, "God has forgiven me and I have repented and now serve him because of His unequaled Mercy."

Daniel 7....(NKJV)
23 “Thus he said:
‘The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth,
Which shall be different from all other kingdoms,
And shall devour the whole earth,
Trample it and break it in pieces.

wise and, I fear, accurate use of tha scripture.

I was going to answer some of the points directed at me but you folks are all doing such a fine job, that to say anything would be redundant, even though there's things I could easily say.

To Mr. Taylor: The list of Christian atrocities given vs those of ISIS and radical Muslim is like comparing Linux viruses to Microsoft. :lol Every time I say Linux does not get them, there's always that critic that "finds" a list, but here I am over 3 years later waiting for just one while Microsoft gets myriads and myriads. So the same with Christian vs radical Muslim. No comparison even though the liberal news media loves to say how bad the former is (c.f. Linux and Android) and say not as much about the latter (MS). Just a comparison we can relate to. :lol :yes

People are missing the point entirely. I'm agreeing with everything everyone is saying about Christianity.

What I am asking is why are you not applying this argument when it comes to Islam?

What I am asking is why are you not applying this argument when it comes to Islam?

Because Islam does not hold the same moral values as put forth in the Gospel. What they can't achieve through negotiations, they take by force. They are cowards who prey on the weak and defenseless. They slaughter children in the name of their god and boast about it.

You cannot put Light and Darkness side by side and say they are they same.

.

What is everyone saying about Christianity?

tob
That the actions of Christian extremists should not reflect the mindset of moderate Christians worldwide. Which is true, they shouldn't.

Again, Christian terrorists are keeping child sex slaves, laborers and soldiers. Christians have bombed abortion clinics and killed doctors that have carried out abortions. The WBC prey on the grieving families of killed soldiers.

We can go back and forth like this all day, it doesn't change the fact that the crimes of Daesh does not give Christians a moral high ground, when they have committed similar atrocities in the past and continue to do so to a lesser extent today. You can blame it on them reading the wrong parts of the bible or whatever else you like, they are still using Christianity as an excuse to kill, murder, and terrorise.

Those aren't Christians..

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

i thought you were talking about this..

The reason you're having such a hard time with this is because you're a nonbeliever living in a politically correct world.

I don't need the Mister stuff, I never made it to Chief Warrant Officer School, plain old Bill is just right Tim from PA. I had not even thought of that but you are right. I'm in my eighth year running Linux and no virus yet. A similar statement is true of Christianity. It is 24 and working on 25 years now and except for the pretenders the Nay Sayers and the Ultra Left Wing God and Christian Haters love to push onto the unknowing as true Christians, we haven't terrorized a single soul.

Great analogy.
