I think that it is so important in today's world that we filter what is viewed in the home. Even though we can't control all that is seen outside of those four walls, at least we can work to counteract some of the negativity with positivity.

There are quite a few options for viewing edited movies. I used to use mainly Clearplay but right now I use PCNoEvil.com, for various reasons. Whatever route you choose doesn't really matter, what does matter is that you are taking steps to monitor your viewing. There is a really good site, kidsinmind.com, that lists all of the sex, violence and language in movies. My family uses it before viewing just about every movie, so that we can make a determination whether or not to go see them (in the theater), or whether or not it needs to be edited (on DVD).

Obviously there are things like the V-Chip and other parental controls for the TV, and others for the computer and those are very important too. We are to be in the world but not of the world and the more worldly things we see, the more worn down we get. :)

Please at least consider making some changes if you don't already do these things.

I need to fork it out for some good filters for my computer.

As for movies, I can pretty much tell what will not be good for my or my kids to see. :)

We must gurad our hearts and minds. :wave

You make some good points. The volume of garbage that comes into the home is staggering.

And this is important not just for the kids. I am a grown adult and I use an internet filter on my own computer and keep the password on my work computer. I struggled with viewing pornographic web sites and staying pure so the filter adds that extra layer of protection between me and the filth.
