There you go "interpreting" whnat I said instead of reading it for what it says. And that will send you amiss, every time, before you get started.

You linked being eternal to being in the image of the Father.
I showed that from the garden of eden we were never eternal, and because Adam broke the relationship with
God and gained knowledge to choose to do good or evil he inherited death.

Now I do not see that I have extended what you have said at all.
I have said others have extended this into making us gods, on the basis once saved we are eternal.
Now that is one interpretation, I do not know what yours is, but from scripture I reject them all.

artful horizon asked you:
"Do you have scripture for that?"
Yes but ,I am on my tablet right and it Google the tHought plus Bible it is there
.
I'm happy to help out.

Rev 20:14 - Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

The words "death and Hades (hell)" are where EVERY unbeliever from God's creation of humanity currently reside, awaiting the Great White Throne Judgment, and then being cast into the lake of fire.

There are none in the Lake of Fire at this time but Hell is bursting at the seams right now.
Some thoughts:
Consider Jesus' story of Lazarus and the rich man. (Luke 16:19-31)

Luk 16:22-25 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried; and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abraham far off and Laz'arus in his bosom. And he called out, 'Father Abraham, have mercy upon me, and send Laz'arus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.'
But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Laz'arus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.

From this bit of the passage, we find that when Lazarus died, he "was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom" where he was "comforted."

(I expect that being in the "Bosom of Abraham", after Christ's ascension, was replaced by being in the presence of the Lord.)

We also see that the rich man was "in Hades" (ᾅδης) where he experienced torment and anguish in flames.
"Hades" is a term which refers to "the place of the dead." (not too clearly either...:shrug) A place where the soul goes but the body does not.

The word translated "hell" is usually "γέεννα (geenna)" which was a place of continual fire.
So, MAYBE, right now, the souls of the unrighteous dead are in torment in "Hades" and, after the resurrection and judgment, they will be cast soul AND body, into hell.

just thinkin'

Rev 20:11-15 informs us of where unbelievers will be cast; into the lake of fire, also called the second death. Prior to the Great White Throne judgment, the only humans, the beast and false prophet, have been cast into the lake of fire. Rev 19:20
