Top of the mornin' to ya me lads and lassies! :lol Lol, since today was March first I figured that I would start a fun new thread celebrating Saint Paddy's day. Not only do my grandmother (who passed away more than ten years ago and is in Heaven now) and my best friend share a birthday on the same day we hunt for leprechauns and pots of gold at the end of the rainbow, but I'm actually a small percentage (I think about ten) Irish myself. So saying kiss me I'm Irish actually works when I tell that to my fiancée lol. Anyway in this thread we can share each other's heritages, talk about what makes us feel lucky, (or if we have any lucky charms) and share music videos on Celtic songs and our favorite Irish music. We can even share stories of leprechauns if it's allowed. So yeah I will start off this thread by saying that I'm mostly German and Italian but as I said before I am a bit Irish but I have more Swiss in me. What makes me feel lucky is when I'm around my fiancée, and no I don't have any lucky charms because I feel like all that God has blessed me with is fate not luck. So hope you all have fun with this new thread and may the luck of the Irish be with you!

From what I've been told, I have quite a bit of Irish blood in me. That our ancestors immigrated from Ireland way back, and they came to Indiana, where the formed a new town for their community. They called it, Ireland Indiana. My dad made a trip there and toured a few cemeteries, and people with our last name were in every one, a lot of them.

Oh I love the Celtic Girls music. They're very good. They do such a good job on this, Amazing Grace

I love Celtic music too especially Celtic Woman and that rendition of the song is really beautiful. Here is a couple of my other favorite songs as well as my favorite movies for Saint Paddy's Day.

This song is from Titanic. :wink

(Surprisingly there was a link to this whole movie, go figure.)

That was a nice one. I always forget to call them the Celtic Women. They're youngsters to me! It's amazing to me how my tastes in music have changed over time. While I do like some heavy metal here n there, there's more to music than power-chords.

I was just going to add something to this thread, but yeah I find it very soothing and peaceful I have no idea how they do that Irish jig, it looks so difficult having to keep your body straight while moving your legs at exactly the same time. Anyway I prefer more of the upbeat music myself.

(This the ending song of the movie that I posted that I really love)

The luck of the Irish.
Is that why I'm always broke?

Lol! That's a good one!

By the way, has anybody ever heard of The Shamrock Shake Before? Mmmm,.. yummy. :drool

Here are just a couple of stories about rainbows and I really like them because not only are they a symbol of God's promise to us, but I think that they are very beautiful. :) First of all here is the Biblical story about Noah's Ark.

And here's just another fun story about a rainbow and what its colors stand for.

And here's a thing about the origin of leprechauns.

Do you know the legend of St.Patrick's Day?

Cut the quote to save room.

Here is a video of a leprechaun sighting that happened in Alabama quite awhile ago.

I love the music posted above but I also really love the Irish Rovers. :wink

This is also a good one (and no it's not talking about the real actual devil)

I just forgot. Haven't listened in a while.

Yeah, they're my favorite Celtic group. :) Did you see that video of the leprechaun sighting posted above by the way? :lol Lol! That has the words fake and hoax written all over it. I mean don't get me wrong, I love stories about them but I really don't think that they exist.
