Basically doing what they have been doing for years. Forcing people to buy their latest OS, even though the ones they currently have are working just fine.

I know my company, who are using Windows 7, will probably not be upgrading any time soon.

Try to buy an automobile with a carburetor instead of electronic fuel injection, without anti-lock brakes, without power windows, without power door locks, etc. Good luck with that!

I don't miss carburetors. The reason the carburetors went away is because they can't make emissions.unless and engineer finds away to build on that is able to get 30mpg and low emissions .good luck

LOL! Jason, my 1961 Comet by Ford got 32 mpg and we only used Fuel Injectors for drag racing back then. LOL! Young folks.

Lewis, I'll bet you, being tech savy know this but others don't; The systems can be loaded only from a disc with a legal Key Code: NOT!

If Seven is any real good it will hang around, just as XP has, supported by White Hat Hackers MS would jail if they could. Windoze 8.1 will not because it was trash out of the box as is ten. I run a virtual machine (VirtualBox) and run the current copy of XP Black inside of it.

Haven't searched but someone has likely already went black with 7 but I reccomend not trying to use any Black version of windoze until MS is finished supporting it, you can get in deep, deep, trouble that way.

I do remember carb systems.I have to work on my two stroke engines often. Those if I don't run them for months will be hard to start. Not so on the fuel injected cars of today.

Having naught to do with gas mileage, my brother.
It's strange and something I learned.we resist change.not all change is good.but I don't miss having to adjust idle or af ratio.simply drive my car to any altitude and the sensors see it and adjust. Can't do that with a carburetor when it's off.air density will matter at high altitude.besides mechanical injection is a bit different on gas engines then and not in use today.poppet valves aren't used much
The gm 4.3 used them up to 2008.

Hondas civic stateside gets a 45 plus mpg.unless you have need for a large wagon .some do,many don't .it's not going to happen under a carb system.if carb could they would
Engineers weren't told to stop using them.the laws under environmental regulations for emissions said they must met emissions. A carb system cant.your 61 comet not running emits more hc then any modern car while they run.never mind the idle emission issue.there was more then just mpg laws thar forced that out.its costs to retool plants .so do saying they want to because they could arbitrarily makes no sense.just like the idea oil weight being the same as on the 60s.it's not.it acts like that but they can be used in lower temps.0w 50.I see new cars running on that.

My truck has no power windows. My ranger didn't either. You can get the cars without those options. Abs,srs is another matter

Packard introduced the first power windows in the 1940 Packard 180 series.[1] This was a hydro-electric system. In 1941, the FordMotor Company followed with the first power windows on the Lincoln Custom (only the limousine and seven-passenger sedans).[2]Cadillac had a straight-electric divider window (but not side windows) on their series 75.

Good stuff in that link
In 1918, a young inventor named Malcolm Lougheed (who later changed the spelling of his name to Lockheed) applied hydraulics to braking. He used cylinders and tubes to transmit fluid pressure against brake shoes, pushing the shoes against the drums. In 1921, the first passenger car to be equipped with four-wheel hydraulic brakes appeared -- the Model A Duesenberg.

The first power steering system on an automobile was apparently installed in 1876 by a man with the surname of Fitts, but little else is known about him. The next power steering system was put on a Columbia 5-ton truck in 1903 where a separate electric motor was used to assist the driver in turning the front wheels

Robert E. Twyford, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, included a mechanical power steering mechanism as part of his patent (U.S. Patent 646,477) issued on April 3, 1900 for the first four-wheel drive system.
