The world equates "right wing politics" with Christianity. The line has become so blurred until they see no difference in the two. For years "conservatism" has been used as a false way to "fight the good fight" among Christians, and now anyone who takes a stand against sin is immediately labeled as a right wing conservative by the world.
Revealing Jesus through His church, both individually and corporately, got lost somewhere in the midst of it all. This is the crucial missing ingredient that changes hearts... and in turn changes a society. I personally believe when the church started identifying itself with conservative politics is when true salt was replaced by a counterfeit "legislative" salt.

The bad thing is we were only being used to fulfill an agenda.. as our society grew more rebellious.

The best thing Carrie Prejean can do now is use her voice to just preach Jesus Christ and stay out of the political arena.

Very good points.

Well I was a black Republican until this election and i switched to Dem, but I am still conservative. And it still feels funny being a Democrat.

I only identify myself as a follower of Jesus Christ. I don't identify myself with any political jargon, nor do I want the world identifying me that way. Only Jesus can change people through the witness of the gospel. We will never ever be able to legislate morality or a better earth.. no matter how much faith we have in our political parties.

You are right, but I find that more Republicans uphold God's moral laws than the Dems. And God has always been involved in politics, because when it comes to His people He is involved, from the hiring of Saul to the hiring of David and beyond. To the handling of Pharaoh to free His children from bondage. Through out the Bible God is involved in politics.

Daniel 2 :21And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

Are there any conservatives on this board ?
A conservative http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservative
A conservative is one who adheres to principles of limited government, personal responsibility and moral values. A conservative would likely agree with the statement in George Washington's Farewell Address that "religion and morality are indispensable supports" to political prosperity. Conservatism arose in the 19th century as a response to liberalism, particularly as manifested in the French Revolution.
If this explanation is acceptable, then yes, I am one.
