Most people including myself until recently probably make no connection with Easter being pagan in its origin. So just because there was a pagan Easter that was celebrated at one time. doesn't mean it is the same thing most Christians celebrate today.

One of the pagan ways to worship Astarte the queen of heaven, good find Lewis.. there are some that still worship the queen of heaven today, the Lord talks about her in the Old Testament, forbidden then forbidden now..

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. - Job 14:4

[The priests] shall...cause [my people] to discern between the unclean and the clean. - Eze. 44:15, 23.

A lot of people say the same thing about Christmas. There are freedom from religion groups that are trying to prevent Christian holiday's from being recognized in public schools and other places because they have to do with Jesus, not pagan traditions. I do respect the point of view that these holiday's were not about Jesus to begin with. It's just a little confusing to me.

My actions, or inactions, are nothing more than the outward workings of my heart condition. Show me the evidence, the proof, that the fork is an unclean thing. And then I will perform the work; I will do whatever it takes to walk in that revealed truth. I will not make excuses. I will not blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Nice to know He looks on our hearts

Do you believe the Lord will overlook blindness?

What I'm referring to is the praising of other gods. Many on Easter take part in pagan rituals, but are unaware of what they're doing. Will the Lord overlook that?

Personally, I don't believe He does.

Thoughts?

.

Personally, I take communion, and remember what the Lord had done during Passover.
Personally, I feel it will be like that for the end times.
May the wrath of God Passover my house.
And He will keep me and my family safe, If we are still alive,
Jesus's blood over my doorpost, me, my family.

peshac is a bit different then communion. the later precedes and supercedes the former. the shadow of communion with Christ is Passover. when jews celebrate peshac its to remind themselves of the birth of the nation. when a Christian partakes in communion its a reminder of the cross which greater and more personal.

Hopefully the more we grow in the Lord the more we 'see' things.
Let ma ask you Gary, are you as saved today as when you first met the Lord..... And do you 'see' things exactly as you first did?

Actually yes. Paul tells us to eat the meat before us unless we know that it was sacrifice to an idol.
Now are Easter bunnies, eggs, etc. sacrificed to an idol, ahhh .....
not in my house and if they were before they got to my house ahhh.....then we must not eat eggs at all. :eek2 I'm fortunate I get mine from my God fearing neighbor down the road.
