As a person ages, as they get into their 40s, 60s, and later....then they naturally begin to realize there is more life behind them, then what is left in front of them.
You'll often find that men in their 50s, are found scrambling around in life trying to repair all the people they harmed when they didnt care if they did when they did, = when they were in their 20s and 30s.
Suddenly those children they felt were "chains" earlier, now have become their "precious children", once age and regret sets in and so forth.

Its been said that if a person is a reprobate past 40 then hell is assured of their moving in.....and that is because there is a hardness and a hardening of the heart that occurs within a sinner that evolves over time.
There is a scripture in Hebrews...."If we sin willfully THERE REMAINETH NO MORE SACRIFICE"..
Now, a twisted heretic misunderstands this verse to mean (to them).."if we commit a sin willingly after we are saved then the Blood of Jesus does not cover a willing sin"..... However, this fool does not realize that almost all our sinning we do after we are saved, is planned, is known.
Im fully confident that every one of you reading this, has KNOWN that a Cable TV SHOW, or a RENTED MOVIE had sexuality in it, and you KNEW IT when you DECIDED TO RENT IT OR WATCH IT.
Am i right, or are you lying.
(caught ya).
So, that is "willing sin"...and you did it.....So, are you going to hell now Mr & Mrs Twisted HEBREWS?
Let me assure you of 2 things.....1.) You are never going to go to hell if you are born again, as Jesus has already gone there for you.
>Try to remember that....<
2.) The God who saved you, already knew when He did, that later on you were going to watch stuff that you know not to watch and do stuff you KNEW not to do..., and HE SAVED YOU ANYWAY.....WAY BACK THEN.....(The Foreknowledge of God Knew what you would do later) (He saved you anyway).
So, learn how to think about your salvation in a more mature way, (some of you) and stop being such a theological self righteous child when it comes to the scriptures.....(whoever you are).

So, to be found unable to respond to the call of Christ, is to find yourself seared in your conscience to the point of no return.
And that is what the Apostle is trying to get those Jesus resisting HEBREWS to understand....That if you just keep on resisting and resisting the conviction of the Holy Spirit, then there comes a time when you can no longer be affected by God's urgent call.
THEN.."there remaineth no more sacrifice for you"...as there IS no sacrifice for a heart that is so hardened that it can never be drawn to the Cross anymore... = As he's WARNING THEM.

So, it's indeed a very good thing to positively reflect on death, to consider and reflect consistently on the end of our earthly experience.
This allows us to focus on the main thing....and that is...GOD, and what is waiting for us beyond our Death.
It also helps us to focus our lives as we realize that we are constantly only one stopped heartbeat away from eternity.
Its "a positive" to reflect on this as it allows a bit of "quickening" to occur within your "mental part" that will help you walk the walk and talk the talk....minute by minute.

Hi Kidron

You have a lot of insight.

i heard a sermon on the radio this week that was almost word for word on the post. Most interesting.

You left out a lot of the passage when quoting it. The writer specifically states that those people, who continually and willfully sin, have come to the share in the Holy Spirit........

These are not unbelieving Jews. Not by a long shot.

Hebrews 6:4-6
4 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come,
6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
