Hi Abide, Many good answers here. The most important are that it is not sins that cause us to lose our salvation but unbelief and absence of faith. I just would like to add that when we read Revelation 21 or 1 Corinthians 5 it does not really refer to a one time sin but rather to a lifestyle. If I lie it does not make me a liar, But a liar lies all the time. There is a difference. If I steal I am not a thief, but a thief steals all the time. It is the NATURE of the person that makes that person be what they are. It seems to me that this is an important concept to understand. When we know Christ, our nature changes and we tend toward the good and to become more like Him. This is how the Holy Spirit helps us.
