A discussion about pets/animals.

I"m sure we all have our favourite animals to keep as pets, and ones that we really don't like at all.

I"m a dog person myself, but can't stand cats.

Anyone else care to share?

I love dogs. My long haired chihuahua has 14 outfits. I have cats, but I don't like 'em-ITCHY. They aren't mine. I tolerate 'em. They aren't as friendly and giving as dogs. Bella is so loving, she knows all my emotions and comes to me whenever I'm down-cats don't do that. She has also adopted my personality-so I've been told.

As far as cats not being as friendly as dogs, that is hogwash. You have not met my cats. :biggrin In fact, one of them knows my emotions and when I am down. She will come lay by me in bed and purr. She is a very giving kitty! :)

They are pictured here:

I have seen mean cats and mean dogs. My cats are not mean, they are very friendly. :yes

I like dogs more when they aren't mine. They are fun, but cats are easier to take care of. I don't have to get up every 15 minutes to let them out to go potty. :tongue Or, waking up to loud barking! :biggrin

I walk my friend Lisa's dog sometimes and that is all the dog I need! :)

Well my dog is what you call trained. Most cats can not be trained. She goes number two on her pad. So, no need for walks. She's 4.5 lbs none of those huge turds...
She stays, sits, rolls and fetches...so far. :tongue

My cats don't need to be trained, they behave on their own. ;)

Some like cats, some like dogs. Both are beautiful creatures created by God. :yes

How about a Wallabe?

Australia has tons of snakes, I'm sure some of them would make nice pets, lol.
Wallabe's are almost the same IMO.

Yeah, we've got heaps of snakes and they're amongst the most vememous in the world - want a bite? :biglol

In that case how about a koala bear :yes

I'm assuming that those of you who hate cats haven't had cat own you yet. Yes, cats own people. The very best cat was named Stampy. She would cry with me when I cried, she would sleep with me. She was trained to wake me up. She was an excellent mouse hunter. She knew when I was sick and wouldn't leave my side until I felt better, not even to eat.

Now, I have a lab/dalmation mix named Porcia (poor-sha), a jack russell terrier/pug mix named Lily, and a calico kitten named Stella. In the past, I've had fish, some red eared slider turtles, some budgies (parakeets), hamsters, and the ever popular hermit crabs.

I've always wanted a while lab mouse or two and I'm starting to think about a snake.

The only cat I ever loved was a tabby we brought home with us from England. A neighbour farmer had given her to us as a tiny, WILD, kitten, and my mother stayed with her day after day like a hawk and trained her with a rolled up newspaper. She became such a wonderful personality, and for cats that is saying something! She was an indoor/outdoor cat, meaning when she had to go she would meow at the front door to be let out. She would enjoy herself outside for several hours and when it was time for her to come in all we had to do was call her name and she would come running like a dog. She was a great hunter, and used to bring us "presents" all the time of voles, lizzards, chipmunks, and birds even. She truly loved her family and showed it all the time.

But I'm a dog person for sure, and this is a picture of Cara who I had for 12 years. She was my best friend and we grew up together since I was 15. It broke my heart when she died last year :crying

....And this is Bonny. She WAS my dog til she took up with my mother when I moved out and took Cara with me. She's half long haired chihuahua and half cocker spaniel. She's so sweet :)
