I know what that crap is.yeah my ranger a 2.3 had those.My daughters v8 hemisphere has them.fun when those butterflies break.a coworker yanked his .They don't do much for gas mileage. I had the check engine light come on for this.I thought that was a long runner short runner deal as it causes a venturi effect .more power at low end .it doesn't. When the valve actuator failed as they are vaccum operated .I noticed a tiny hesitate at wot.

the crown vic and other models who use v8 5.7 and 5.4,4.6 has it.the worst one was the kIA six cylinder where it fell apart and the engine sucked in the parts.

I know they may have their uses, but for the most part butterfly valves are horrible.
