The clear cut context of the parable of the Sower is the Gospel Message, whether found in Mark, Matthew or Luke.

Believe and be saved is a reference to the Gospel message, not some other message or word of God.

I simply don't isolate Mark 4:15 only to the Gospel. The Word of God is....
2Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
2Ti 3:17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

Come on JLB. Certainly you must know that isolating the Word of God to your thinking is not profitable. God says that ALL SCRIPTURE is profitable.

That would be Mark 4:18-19

18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. Mark 4:18-19

This lustful desires comes from own own flesh, in which sin dwells.

James explains -

14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:14-15

There is sin, that is to say, the law of sin in our flesh, which produces a desire to gratify itself.

When a person dwells on this desire for a period of time, it conceives and the person does the sin he is thinking and meditating about.

When a person begins to practice this sin as a lifestyle, then that sin when mature, will bring for eternal death for that individual if not repented of, and cleansed from their life.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

No argument here my friend. Satan's influence dwells in a person's heart/mind and encourages that person to respond to the lust of his flesh. Satan says jump and we say, how high?

When I was first saved, I knew nothing of Christianity other than being good. It wasn't until I got into the Scriptures (in the first Bible I ever owned) and listening to my Pastor, did my mind begin it's renewal.

Satan's influence dwells in a person's heart/mind and encourages that person to respond to the lust of his flesh. Satan says jump and we say, how high?

Satan does not dwell in my heart or mind.

Sin dwells in my flesh.

My heart has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

I, by the grace of God, keep myself, and cleanse myself from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, as I perfect holiness in the fear of God.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

The fear of the Lord is a foundation of life to turn one away from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27

Jesus said we, His people, are to fear God.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

Why did Jesus tell His people, His disciples, His Apostle's to fear God who is able to destroy both their body and soul in hell.

Here is an example of this very thing.

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’ 44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:41-46

These are His people, His servants, that He is speaking these words to: Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire...

They were expected to bear the fruit of righteousness, and did not.
They recognized Jesus as Lord.

This is the evidence that we are indeed abiding in Him.

...they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ

6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written:

“He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever.”

10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, 2 Corinthians 9:6-13

and again

9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11

Amen, those are good steps, to which I liken the need to recognize we as a house, need restoration.

As baby Christians we have much grace from the Lord who expects little from us, as a Father, expects little from his newborn child.

However after 15,20,25,30 years of opportunity, the Lord will expect more from us.

Arguing against the truth is vanity, VANITY I say!!

Yes, I agree.

The context of Mark 4:15 is Satan stealing the Gospel Message from unbelievers... lest they should believe and be saved.

13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness;17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” Mark 4:13-20

If Satan were to steal the Gospel message from a believer, then that would result in a believer, departing from the faith.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 1 Timothy 4:1

You jump at the chance to argue with me. I said Satan't INFLUENCE dwells in our heart/mind. Get it right! If you don't think so, you're in trouble of being deceived, just like smaller says.

Please define the difference between Satan's influence in my heart and Satan being in my heart.

Then I will know better what you mean and where you coming from.

Not arguing with you brother, just arguing with Satan's influence in your heart and mind.

Honestly JLB, I don't understand why you can't see that Satan is the author of sin. Look at a verse that you yourself quoted....1Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons."

Notice that these folk DEPART FROM THE FAITH. Hello? Depart from the faith!!!!!! Who caused these believers in Christ Jesus to depart from the faith? I'll tell you. "deceitful spirits" who teach demon theology, that's who. Now the big question is how did these deceitful spirits do that? I'll tell you again. They were, under the command of Satan, able to influence these believers heart and mind.

That's all I would like you to believe. Satan is able, in this case, influence a believer into committing sin. Somehow demons have an open door in the minds of all believers thru this.... Romans 7:17 "So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me." Since Satan is the architect of sin, something of Satan dwells in believers. That's my position. Sin is Satan's creation, and it dwells in believers. Sin appeals to the desires of the flesh. That appeal, or influence toward sin is the activity of Satan and demons. Therefore satanic forces intrude into the minds of believers to cause them to sin.

I don't know any other way to convince you of this truth. Is Satan robbing you of this vital theology? Apparently so!

Come on JLB. Certainly you must know that isolating the Word of God to your thinking is not profitable. God says that ALL SCRIPTURE is profitable.

I couldn't agree more that all scripture is God breathed and is profitable for doctrine and
reproof as well as correction.

The parable of the Sower is about the preaching of the Gospel Message and is represented as
"seed" in the teaching.

The "seed" represents the Gospel Message, and some "other" word of God.

Those who believe are saved.

Only by believing the Gospel Message can men be saved.

The context of Mark 4:15 concerns and is a reference to the Gospel Message.

JLB

What theology is it that Satan is robbing me of?

The theology of Satan dwelling in our flesh and in our heart and mind after we are born again and Spirit filled?

No it is not only the Gospel.

Hey old friend. You and I have been good friends for a long time and I want it to continue. Soooo lets call this a draw. I'm not going to convince you, and you're not going to convince me. IT'S A DRAW, A tie. If we go any further with this, hard feelings might arise and I don't want that among a friend like you.

I love you JLB. I'm impressed that when you're convicted of doctrine, you won't budge. Good for you!!

No it is not only the Gospel.

Brother, the parable of the sower is referring to the Gospel.

It is the Gospel that men believe and are saved.

It is the Gospel that Satan steals from a few unbelievers who hear... lest they believe and are saved.

My Point: Mark 4:15 by context, refers to the Gospel Message being preached to unbelievers.

That does not mean I believe it is impossible for Satan to steal "other" words of God from peoples heart.

I am pointing out the context of Mark 4:15.
I am also pointing out that Mark 4:15 certainly does not mean Satan dwells in all peoples flesh and hearts and minds.

JLB

That also means, just as Jesus Said, EVERY WORD of God applies to us. Matt. 4:4, Luke 4:4.

Neither of these two scripture references that you posted say any such thing.

4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it.
Mark 4:4

4 But Jesus answered him, saying,“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”
Luke 4:4

These verse's do not say "every word of God applies to us".
