What a woman eats during pregnancy does not cause depression in the child.

Depression is caused by a lack of serotonin in the brain. There could always be a lack, but then something happens and it triggers the depression.

Depression is easy to treat. A psychiatrist can prescribe pills for this. There are different pills and the same ones don't work for everybody - sometimes it takes a few tries to get the right one. Also, sometimes more than one type is needed. For instance if there's a lot of anxiety, anxiety pills may be needed too. Some anti-depressants have anti-anxiety medication in them also. And if a person gets panic attacks, this could also be controlled.

We're very lucky to live at a time when depression could be cured. Many years ago there was no cure for this terrible condition.

So, NO, the mother is not to blame.

well the baby in the stomach pregnant needs food.
 
The baby gets food Saintman.
The mother HAS to eat. Everyone HAS to eat.
So when the mother eats, the baby gets the food too.
So the baby needs the food -
And the baby gets the food.

Even if the mother eats just a little bit, the baby still gets food.
What about the mothers in Africa?
They don't eat a lot of food
They eat very little food,
but the baby they have STILL gets enough food.

Of course, it would be nice if everyone had enough food.
Right?
