TOG wins the thread necromancy of the week award.

*TOG comes up on the stage to accept his award*

I would like to thank all those without whom I could not have been able to be here. I would especially like to thank way2groovy1 for creating this thread and all those who added their comments to it over a decade ago. I would like to thank the moderators for not banning me for thread necromancy and last, but by no means least, I would like to thank my parents for not believing in abortion. Thank you all.

This is thread is more than 10 years old, oh my.

Is it? That might explain why it was last on the list.

In 2003 it would have been like 4 hours a day. Then there was a time I was really addicted to online games and spent 12 hours every day online. Now I am too busy with real life and a computer-less outdoor job, so some days I don't even spend an hour on the internet. Although I like being around you guys I rather like real life experiences, so I'm really happy that way an dread the day when I have to do some office job again.

In 2003 I would have answered "What do people spend time on the Internet for?" There was nothing to do back then. There was no Youtube, no Google and no good online games. Nothing but a few uninteresting forums and a couple of personal web pages consisting of "Welcome to my home page" and a few pictures.

I've been posting on internet forums since 1999. :-P
Napster ended in 2002 (thank you, Metallica and Madonna :angry3) but in 2003 here were a number of other p2p file sharing platforms still active. Chatrooms existed, as well as instant messengers like ICQ that I used to use a lot. MySpace started, ebay already existed, you could read news, look up train schedules and research stuff for university classes. My favourite German christian internet forum (jesus.de) already existed and in 2003 I was one of the atheists hanging out there and trolling christians. :)
E-Mails existed, of course.

Haha, right? In 2003 what I mostly did was pay games on a veggie tales website, and search for pictures of collies. Eventually I began to look up information on collies and dogs in general.
Other than that, must of my computer time was spent making "pretend" webpages on Microsoft publisher...Okay, maybe that was more 2005, 2006.

Okay... Maybe I exaggerated a bit. I first got connected to the internet in 1995, so I knew a little bit about it 8 years later. In fact, by that time I was working at a school teaching kids to make web pages, among other things.

Tog I got everybody beat because I have one in the bathroom and one waiting for me at Hawkins Funeral Home, bought and paid for.
24 hours a day I even take it to bed with me and in the bathroom with me and I am taking my computer to my grave too.

When I went to Hershey park last year, they had like park-wide wifi. I wound up checking my social media every five minutes. xD

How long are you on the internet each day? Is the internet your second home?
Hmm... During the day I check FB and e-mail and this site. briefly. Then in the evening about 9 I log into the internet.
Depending on how sleepy my friend and I get, we can play wow from say 10 to 12 and even sometimes 1 in the morning!
