Do we have any other fans of his films on here? My four favorites from the top are;

The Nightmare Before Christmas (I watch this all of the time near Halloween :mischief)

The Corpse Bride (Another Halloween favorite :shock)

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

Alice In Wonderland

Although he is a bit dark, I am a fan. His art style is unique and I think I loved that Johnny Depp was one of his favorite actors to use in my teen years.

I loved how Tim Burton followed Roald Dahl's book closely for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. With all the contrasting bright and dark colors, it was a treat to see at theaters. I wasn't able to attend the end of the year Girl Scout (ugh yes, I was once one..long story of regret) trip so my mom got me to that first showing in our local theater.

I wonder what is up Tim Burton's sleeve next. I haven't checked the imdb in a while.

Johnny Depp is a good actor, but other than that and the fact he's got the looks, I don't really see anything else going for him. I definitely can't stand his attitude. Anyway, what's wrong with being a former Girl Scout? I was one too and I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I have become more disappointed in Johnny Depp over the years. In my teen years, he was my favorite actor crush, but these days not so much. I will still pray that he will become saved.

I stuck with Girl Scouts for 11 years. I was a cadet, got my Silver Award, and done so much. The good and bad experiences I will always remember. Aside from that drama, I was horrified to learn years after quitting, they are a proud Planned Parenthood supporter. They have done a lot of questionable things like allowing a man that has done music videos that are anti-women, really, on the G.S. board. They have allowed sexual "educational" materials to be passed out at their big leader conferences. I won't buy their cookies or financially donate to them as I cannot do so on a good conscience. I will PM you with my response to that bottom paragraph since it really is off topic, but I totally agree with what you said about Johnny Depp.

Oyyy... Tim Burton is very satanic. His movies and film are a front for the occult. Do not be tricked. These films are made to destroy the soul and on every level.

I like some of Tim Burton's movies. I absolutely did not like Sweeney Todd and agree that one may be satanic. Nightmare before Christmas, love the music (Danny Elfman) and the characters are interesting.

Sweeny Todd is just a really good horror movie to me. I didn't even realize that was Tim Burton though. You still get a like from me for the other things that you said though. :)

Yup, Tim Burton directed it. Definitely a dark tale. I thought it brought alive the adaptation of the broadway version, but it probably one of the more sinister films with Burton and Depp.

Oh yeah, there's definitely no question in my mind that it's dark, but I don't feel like it's sinful to watch or anything since it's just a movie to me and it isn't real anyways.

I guess I battle myself on this topic in our entertainment today. I won't lie, this movie is in my collection, but I do see on how one side it is a fascination with lore, the music, entertainment, corrupt themes in societies, etc. And on the other hand, it does show many things against God's law such as murder, lying, stealing, coveting, adultery, etc.

True, but all movies have sinful things in them and as long as I don't do them myself it just doesn't bother my conscience, but if bothers yours or anyone else's, just don't watch it. It's as simple as that. Like Harry Potter. Some Christians like myself love it, some hate it. As long as I am left in peace to enjoy it then I really don't care who hates it. It doesn't faze me a bit.

By the way, if it sounds like I'm angry at you,.. I'm not. I just get fusterated sometimes at other Christians in general who think they can tell me how to live my own personal life. So yeah sorry, please don't take any of that personal. It's nothing against you or anything. :sorry

sometimes those moments when it sounds like there telling you how to live your life is just advice.. most cases its from personal experiences. the bible says
Song of Solomon 2:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

15 Catch the foxes for us—
the little foxes that ruin the vineyards—
for our vineyards are in bloom.
its the little things that can lead to bigger things. watching something that is not good as a christian .does not mean it will cause a person to go do it. our eyes is the window of the soul many things enter in that can lead to temptation . so if someone sounds bossy and it hits you wrong.. just mark up as advice that can help you latter down the road.... just wait as you get older you will have your moments of sounding bossy lol it comes with age

ROTFL!!! :hysterical:hysterical:hysterical Since when does anyone get tempted to murder somebody, cut them up, and bake them into a pie??? If anybody ever did, they should probably be locked up in a mental institution.

While I have enjoyed watching some other Tim Burton films, his Charlie pales drastically in comparison with Mel Stuart's classic Willy Wonka.
