The gospel according to catholics has nothing to do with the gospel according to the apostles. Mary did nothing at the cross except stand there. :o She never uettered a word. For all we know, she could have been wondering why her Son was being tortured and killed. And from everything she said in the bible about her Son, this would make more sense. She wondered why he was preaching in the temple and thought he was out of his mind. Jesus also said "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." That is the Mary of the bible. But the catholics don't believe Jesus and have made up their own Mary. And again, Paul tells us what will happen to people who preach a different gospel than the bible. "Their end will be what their actions deserve." The catholics make up their own gospel at their own peril.

That's a very good, and very valid point, Heidi. The simple, humble Jewish maiden of Nazareth, blessed among women indeed, has somehow been turned into the 'august Queen of Heaven; Sovreign mistress of the Angels.' who appears all over the globe, like she allegedly did at Fatima, coming to establish devotion to her Immaculate Heart.

Then Jesus was no longer human? How does that work?

Can the human flesh resurrect itself? Does the human flesh live without blood?

Jesus is human, but man did not become a living-soul as a result of Mary's input. Or at least that's what God's word says.

Christ's flesh came from Mary. My statement was not to the exclusion of the Holy Spirit.

Yet, how many idols dedicated to the Holy Spirit do you see in a RC synagogue? Very few right? Maybe even none?

Who seems to be the most visible and gets the most credit, Mary or the Holy Spirit?

So then there are 2 Jesus'?? How does that work? How does Jesus cease to be human after the Resurrection? Does this imply that He was not fully God before the Resurrection in your view, cj?

There is one Christ.

Jesus did not lose His humanity, rather, His humanity was glorified in divinity. Or in other words, His humanity was lifted up to a higher level. This higher level had nothing to do with Mary, and neither did the lifting up.

As I touched on above, humanity came from God, not Mary. The Lord's physical body came from Mary. Yet even this is not the complete truth, because scripture tells us that it is God who weaves us in the womb.

Jesus was always fully God.

Tell me, what do you know of the significance of the matter regarding the cooking of the Passover lamb, before the Israelites could eat it? Was the cooked flesh the same as the uncooked flesh?

Is this something of a Socratic question? ;-) "Habitual and firm disposition to do the good"--however, that was not the sense in which I was using the word in my statement. In saying that everything was in virtue of Christ, I was saying that everything was effective/by the power of Christ.

Or effected by the power of Christ, which is to say, effected by Christ Himself, for His Person is His power.

Virtue is the excellency of God in Christ, denoting the energy of life that enables us to overcome all obstacles and to carry out all excellent attributes. Glory is the divine goal; virtue is the energy and strength of life that enable us to reach the goal.

Therefore, based on your own speaking, what praise then is there that should be given to Mary? None, cause nothing came from Mary.

Appreciated her yes, as we appreciate all the saints, but worship her, no.

In love,
cj

So if nothing came form Mary I guess Jesus just popped up somewhere, odd, never heard that before.

Unfortunately, ignorance is common among the RC and similar adherents.

All kidding aside though..... the context was virtue, go figure how you ended up heading down the wrong path. Or maybe you were kidding too.

In love,

Let me think about that one.............

so our context is virtue... what is virtue?
