The headline of the Times tells it all:
After Backing Trump, Christians Who Fled Iraq Fall Into His Dragnet

Seriously, they back Trump, flee oppression, are Christians and look how he repays them!!! What a terrible thing to do~!~!!~!

    From the article:
    "
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. — A few Sundays ago, federal immigration agents walked through the doors of handsome houses here in the Detroit suburbs, brushing past tearful children, stunned wives and statuettes of the Virgin Mary in search of men whose time was up.

If the Trump administration prevails, more than 100 of these men may soon be deported, like the tens of thousands of other people rounded up this year as part of a national clampdown on illegal immigration."

    The community is devastated.

Heartless. Cruel. Unfeeling! Children crying. Families torn!

    Paragraph 5:
"They are Christians from Iraq — a land that they and their families fled decades ago because, they say, to live as a Christian in Iraq is no life at all, and sometimes means death. They settled in Detroit and its suburbs, accumulating into what may now be the largest population of Chaldean Christians in the world. They opened businesses, founded a dozen Chaldean Catholic churches and rose in numbers and wealth."

    NO NO NO!!!

    And yet:
"“Christians in the Middle East have been executed in large numbers. We cannot allow this horror to continue!” Mr. Trump said on Twitter in January, returning to a campaign-trail refrain that had captured Chaldean hearts and ballots across this stretch of Macomb and Oakland Counties. As the Chaldeans like to say, once with pride, now with fury, the area helped tip Michigan to Mr. Trump in November."

    Hypocrite! Liar! Evil man!!!!

Any WHY are they being deported after such promises? I give you paragraph 8:
"Though most of them came here legally, as refugees or through relatives who were American citizens, their green cards were revoked after criminal convictions on charges including theft, drug possession, rape and murder."

See? They are peaceful criminals whose only crimes were stealing stuff, buying illegal drugs, forced sex (called rape), and oh yeah, so they killed a few people too.

Other than that, they are loving family people!

Yeah, darn that 8th paragraph. How many people only read the headline and the first few? Lots probably.

Naturally, the bones of the article are hidden further into the article, in paragraph 8.

My only question would be their status. Are they actual citizens yet?

The New York Times? Not surprising. May as well call them the CNN of paper journalism.

Come on now! I have it on good authority, from a member on these forums, no less, that they are Lovely People with no malice in them. They mean no harm. The AK47s, AK74s, 50 caliber Machine Guns, Grenades, Plastique, and other assorted goodies are only for playing War Games on their, misnomered, Training Camps here in the USA.

Good gosh ladies and guys, they do not have a plan, ya know.

The old fossil pulls the brim of his Authentic Indiana ones Fedora, purchased from the creator, the Mad Hater, down covering his new glasses, spins his zero turn radius, motorized, wheelchair 180 degrees and is heard to mutter, "Idiots!," as he drove off.

News papers are guilty of this all the time. they always highlight what they think will get emotional attention. By ignoring the fact that the Iraqis are criminals, people jump at the headlines. These newspapers are very dishonest and wicked.:angry

I've read the article. Looks like reasonably fair reporting to me.

Because of the headline and the structure it is an abomination.

The headline says that Christians from Iraq who supported Trump are now being deported. The article then elaborates upon how this is so. So what precisely do you find that's objectionable?
