I am glad that I have so far kept my brain pure from the corrosive effects of the Garbage Pail Kids. I vow here and now to remain pure for the rest of my life.

Actually, having no TV signal in the house, no cable and no satellite has been a wonderful influence on my sanity. :)
 
You're really lucky. You can research it online... then wonder how the HECK something that bad could possibly have been made. I came across a youtube review of it and became intrigued. The reviewer said that he couldn't decide whether to take it to a scientist to study it take it to a priest to exorcise it. I had to agree.

So yeah, Twilight is WAY better than that.

Well Edward had no personality because by the time they got married, they still barely knew each other. If they loved each other enough to get married, don't you think that, through Bella, we'd know more about Edward? No, apparently not, we're just treated to creepy staring.

But if there's one thing I like about Twilight, it's how easy it is to make fun of it. Some of the fan art for the Anti-Twilight facebook pages are absolutely hilarious. And Dan Bergstein's Blogging Twilight series on Spark Life was highly enjoyable, pulling apart everything stupid about the series and making jokes about it that didn't seem forced. It sort of put the reader's perspective in there with a comedic twist. So I'm glad for Twilight because it's turned itself into some seriously funny comedy.

I've read that blog! It's very funny. I was reading the last twilight book and it was getting pretty bad but i got the books as a gift and I wanted to finish the series after reading most of it. I starting reading his blogs chapter by chapter as I was was reading and that was kind of fun. I think he blogs Harry Potter books as well.
 
I wouldn't call that the ultimate lesson on how NOT to make a good film. The lesson of GPK is how NOT to make a good KID'S film. The puppetry was terrible and the puppets were downright CREEPY. Welcome to your nightmares, folks. There's a scene involving flatulence, vomiting, and ripping clothes off models. You know, for kids!! There's a reason it's on Wikipedia's list of worst movies ever made.

The ultimate lesson on how NOT to make a movie has to be The Room. The camera work is weird, the acting is laughable, and the story makes literally no sense. Though Pocket Ninjas has some great acting moments as well. :lol

Okay, that's off topic, but even so, I'm not saying Twilight is the worst. I'm saying it's bad. And harmful.
 
For those who liked reading it, and/or might wonder what was in the author's head about Edward and the creepy stalker behavior, I was given a tip by a friend about a book Meyer was writing from Edward's viewpoint. I actually like dit, it explained a LOT about why he behaved the way he did, including the rather mysterious anger on the first day.

Anyway, I actually thought this was a MUCH better story than Twilight. Same tale, different perspective. And much more interesting, IMO.

(He even calls himself a "creepy stalker - a creepy pi]vampire[/i] stalker" at one point, which is why I thought y'all might enjoy the tale.)
 
There is a worse impact Twilight has on children. And it has nothing to do with odd relationships with animals, dead people, or babies.

The most adverse impact is... the terrible prose! My children can date the neighborhood dog (then cheat on him with the 100year older murderer down the block) just as long as the memoir is elegantly written!

Just kidding... Half kidding.
 
:lol True enough Robert. I guess I wouldn't call it "terrible" prose, just sort of lame towards the end. But, it's no classic.
