UNCLEAN SPIRITS- (EMOTIONS)
Rom 7:23-24
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
Rom 7:15-21
15For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.
16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.
17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.
20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.
Matt 5:28-30
28 "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
30 "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Gal 5:24
24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Eph 2:2-3
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
Rom 8:5-8
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
James 4:7-8
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
1 Pet 5:8-9
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
2 Tim 2:26
26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
1 Pet 5:10
10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Matt 8:28-34
28 When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way.
29 And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"
30 Now a good way off from them there was a herd of many swine feeding.
31 So the demons begged Him, saying, "If You cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine."
32 And He said to them, "Go." So when they had come out, they went into the herd of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and perished in the water.
33 Then those who kept them fled; and they went away into the city and told everything, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men.
34 And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to depart from their region.
Mark 5:2-13
2 And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains,
4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him.
7 And he cried out with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me."
8 For He said to him, "Come out of the man, unclean spirit!"
9 Then He asked him, "What is your name?" And he answered, saying, "My name is Legion; for we are many."
10 Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
11 Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains.
12 So all the demons begged Him, saying, "Send us to the swine, that we may enter them."
13 And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.
Mark 9:26-29
26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead."
27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, "Why could we not cast him out?"
29 So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting."
Gal 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

xxx All these emotions are unclean spirits. These are tormenting spirits. There are other unclean spirits that make you feel good. Like pride, coveting, lust. When you read the bible do you get a strong feeling that it doesnt mean that. That is an unclean spirit trying to keep you from belieiving the Word of God. When you read something new in the bible if you have any unclean spirits in you the Word will arouse them. Then you have to make a choice do you believe the verses and suffer from the tormenting spirit that is trying to stop you? Or do you give into the spirit and pervert the Word? That is your choice.

Luke 9:54-55
54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?"
55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.

When you read the bible do you get a strong feeling that it doesnt mean that.
Never.
All that is necessary to arouse "unclean spirits" is to try to do what the Bible says to do. That identifies you as their enemy.
If you read the Bible and agree with what it says but don't put it into practice, they'll leave you alone because you're all ready on your way to hell and they can concentrate on tripping up people who are heading for glory.

I said
But the bible says to edify one another. Give them more and more verses so that they can fight against the devil.

I said
Yes. Do you have a different one based on scripture?
Actually, the word is Koine Greek (The Greek of the market place.) and it is to that source which we must go for our understanding of its use in scripture.
Literally the word "edify" (οἰκοδομέω/oikodomeō) meant:
> to build a house, erect a building
> to build (up from the foundation)
> to restore by building, to rebuild, repair
Metaphorically it meant:
> to found, establish
> to promote growth in Christian wisdom, affection, grace, virtue, holiness, blessedness
> to grow in wisdom and piety

Giving people verses to read could accomplish that but that is not what Jesus said to do. HE said to "make disciples." Discipleship is training; it is demonstrating how something is done; it is observing the disciple's work and assisting him/her to do it better.

Just giving verses to read is like handing everyone on a pro football team a copy of the play book and telling them to memorize it and then telling them to show up for their first game ready to go but never practicing any of the plays.

Reading verses provides "head knowledge." Because a person has read how to do something does not necessarily mean he could actually do the thing if necessary let alone make it his normal manner of living.

Jesus said to make disciples, not readers.

I'm sorry but I dont see a problem there. Every sense Jesus made the play book available to everyone.

OK. I'll try again.

There is a big difference between reading and doing.

Reading about how to do something provides information.
Practicing doing something provides experience and expertise.

I can study what the word says and even become an expert on what the word says. That would make me a Gnostic; one having knowledge.

But if I practice DOING what the word says, (hopefully under the discipline of a mentor) that would make me a disciple.

That's why football teams practice the plays in the playbook. It's not enough to memorize them. You have to be able to run them and that takes practice.

Jas 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

I understand that. But no one can be a doer of the Word without FIRST being a hearer of the Word. We are on the internet where we cant show someone what to do. The best we can do is give them the knowledge on what to do.
And introducing them to the teacher the only guaranteed teacher in the whole bible. The Holy Spirit.

So the internet isn't the place to try.

If I had a dollar for every wako who said the Holy Spirit taught him.........

I said
Now that is sad. I think your saying you dont know this Holy Spirit.

[Jhn 14:26
[26] "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

[2Co 5:5
[5] Now He who has prepared us for this very thing [is] God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

I think everything can be cleared up if you can share with us your viewpoint concerning the Trinity.

Well I believe Jesus and Paul. Jesus said the only true God is the Father. Is Jesus telling the truth?

[Jhn 17:1-3
[1] Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,
[2] "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
[3] "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Paul said yet for us there is only one God the Father.

[1Co 8:5-6
[5] For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords),
[6] yet for us [there is] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom [are] all things, and through whom we [live].

Jesus and God are one in the same as I Am Alpha and Omega.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus is that light before the foundation of the world as He is the same spirit that is God come in the flesh to save those who are lost. Now we have the Holy Spirit in whom He and Jesus bear witness to the light as I and the Father are one.

John 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Are you suggesting that Jesus is not "true God"?
Is Jesus God or is he not God?

I said
Jesus Himself says He is not God. When He said the only true God is the Father.

[Jhn 17:1-4
[1] Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,

[3] "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
[4] "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

No he didn’t. That’s you misquoting Paul intentionally leaving out the part about One God also being Jesus Christ (Messiah).

I said
This is what it says. This is what Paul said.

[1Co 8:5-6
