Most days I'll see if I can post a verse taken from biblegateway.com - their verse of the day feature. These can be a great encouragement, and sometimes you didn't know they existed!
Or I might post a random verse that I think of. Anyone else, feel free to share!

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice,â€Â- Psalm 95:6-7 (NIV)

EDIT: unless otherwise stated, all bible quotes will be using the NIV.

I will add a verse! This one is my favorite and I say it like a million times a day.. (slight exaggeration)..

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted more than you are able, but with the temptation He will provide a way of escape so that you will be able to bear.

1 Corinthians 10:13

While we're in 1 Corinthians, I'll add this verse that I love, and is the chorus to the song 1 Corinthians 13. A good challenge: substitute the word "love" for your name, and see how true it is!

1 Corinthians 13:4-6
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I had heard that verse before but I didn't know exactly where it was.. I love that verse.. Thanks Nick! :)

That's Ok! :biggrin

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. - Proverbs 22:6 (NiV)

This is what the LORD says your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. - Isiah 48:17

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."

Hebrews 12:11

What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to youâ€â€guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us

2 Timothy 1:13-14

We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

Colossians 1:28

I'm doing a study on Proverbs, so I thought I'd post this:

11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,

12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

13 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom,
the man who gains understanding,

14 for she is more profitable than silver
and yields better returns than gold.

15 She is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.

16 Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor.

17 Her ways are pleasant ways,
and all her paths are peace.

18 She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
those who lay hold of her will be blessed.

(Proverbs 3:11-18)

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Psalm 143:10

Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.

Titus 2:2

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Isaiah 46:4

[A song of ascents.] I lift up my eyes to the hills where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2

[Imitating Christ's Humility] If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. - Philippians 2:1-2

I thought this was the verse of the day. Looks like I may as well just read the whole Bible. :lol

Verse of the day - as in verse of the day that it is posted. A Daily Verse, more like it.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. - 1 John 4:16

[Two Kinds of Wisdom] Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

James 3:13
