The scammers unfortunately are using a fundamental flaw in our system to scare people. "IRS" notifications are another scam. If these systems would not be so draconian that scare people to death (while ironically Kenny Rogers sings he's proud to be an America and being free), this would not happen. I remember years ago watching TV shows how awful the IRS treats people like a banana republic dictator, but while they cleaned up their act somewhat people still have this fear which the crooks capitalize off of. It's the same with Microsoft. It's an operating system designed with back doors so that you can be monitored. But MS is miffed that crooks also capitalize off of what MS wants. So as long as they have this Orwellian stance, the operating system will be a problem and you will get "Microsoft calls" (never for Linux Android iOS, etc LOL).
