I like "nesting dolls", the real, original types, and found several websites, with lovely handpainted dolls:
Kremlin gifts; pretty hand painted nesting dolls: http://www.kremlingifts.com/nesting/7gal.html
I like Burkin, and Mishna.

Whoooo!
2 thousand dollars! http://www.russiansouvenirs.com/web/mr/mr478.htm

I was enjoying looking around, until I found THIS:

I saw a set of colonial hand-weaved nesting baskets that were valued at those prices. I could never pay that. Then again, I'm not a collector of anything much but music... and junk.

Oh wow! I used to have some of those when I was little. And I remember always seeing them on Sesame Street. I never knew that's what they were called though.

I wonder how many of the OBL ones have sold.

They're pretty, and collectible. The hand painted ones are the nicest, I think. I found some blank nesting dolls, which can be used in a craft project, for kids to paint. Wouldn't that be fun, letting your children or grandchildren paint their own dolls?
As for the OBL ones?
Maybe someone is using them for firewood!
:)

I wouldn't pay 2K for dolls or baskets! I liked the less expensive nesting dolls, the ones running between 8 dollars and 30 dollars.
If there's a buyer for an item, there will always be a seller.
A basket is a basket.
An urn is an urn, unless it's an ancient Greek or Roman urn.
Speaking of urns.......... :tongue
Have you seen the "Life Gem"? You can take the ashes of your deceased loved one, have their ashes squished up into a diamond, and then, you can either wear that diamond, or keep the diamond in a box at home.
What do you think of that?
I think it's icky. http://www.lifegem.com/secondary/process.asp. Extremely expensive, too.

Where did you see the ones that can be painted? My kids LOVE to paint.

ALSO! I was just on EBAY, and noticed they have a lot of blank, unpainted nesting doll sets up for bid.
Just thinking about ya!
Let me know if you buy some!

:)
