Was the 'Prince of Egypt' a good influence?

quite a few years back, they had that movie, the Prince of Egypt, that went to theatres. Now that I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old, and going to a church again, I have been reading them Bible stories.

I am wondering, if I can find that movie, 'Prince of Egypt' (story of Moses), was that a good example of the Exodus story, or was there too much Hollywood influence?

What about other animations like that of Joseph, what are good titles to look for (Older titles, as I would be looking in a Library system, and can also order from other area libraries)

Is there a popular media company that did animated Bible stories? I already know about VeggieTales, so I don't need a bunch of those responses, I am looking for Kid friendly Bible stories for now.

Thank you.

Even though it did get some "Hollywood" treatment, I thought that the Prince of Egypt was a great movie. I watched it with the kids and helped them see the parallels of the Gospel story.... It might be a little to over the head of your 3 y/o, but your older child will probably love it.

Hanna Barbara has some good Bible story videos called "The Greatest Adventure Stories from the Bible". You can get them from Amazon. Not all the stories are all that faithful of a retelling... but as a way to introduce them to the kids, they're pretty good. My kids liked them. I think the key though is to watch them with the kids and use them as a springboard to discuss the actual Bible story, because I really have never found any videos that are completely true to the text.

I wonder if chabad.org has anything on Passover that is for kids. I say this as that would do the entire exodus account in a nut shell but its a straight jewish view and they deny the messiah. hmm
