WD-40 is our friend!

(Just don't spray it near houseplants ... some are highly sensitive to it & will die as a result of the exposure)

wd 40 is not very good for rust there are much better things for that. if your distributor get water in it spraying a good coat of wd40 in it will dry it out so it will crank.

A distributor doesn't "crank". It distributes the electrical voltage to the spark plugs in appropriate time to generate a spark across the electrodes of the spark plugs thereby igniting the fuel within the cylinders. The starter does the cranking. Drying out the distributor cap of moisture insures a more positive electrical contact between the distributor's rotor and the individual points on the distributor cap. Just thought I'd clarify. :biggrin2

I am aware of what you posted I just dont type plain enough for you. if one has water in the distributor cap a new battery and new starter will not start the internal combustion engine until the water is gone from inside the distributor.
