I figured that I would post one more thread before going off to bed, and being the proud owner of an adorable kitty cat myself, I figured that this could be where we talk about our pets. It could be about the pets we have, or have had in the past, or maybe about a pet that we would really like to have.

I have two whippets. My husband bought them several years back. I thought I would only ever be a cat lady.
They can be quite active but they are couch potatoes most of the time.

Yeah so can my Jessie. She loves to play, but she also loves to cuddle and sleesleep on your lap. I'm really hoping for a kitten so I can have more fun of both wirlds.

I have a bella,rescue dog.

Really? That's good. It's always better to rescue animals in this munk's opinion. We sort of rescued our kitty Jessie. She was a stray and nobody ever came to claim her so she went home with a friend of ours but all of the other cats were mean to her so that's how we wound up getting her. That was right after our other cat Jasmine ran away a few years ago. We will always miss her and love her, but I think that story is proof that everything happens for a reason.

Poll added :)

Thanks, that was very nice of you. I really appreciate it. You're such a nice and sweet guy. :hugAnyway, so now that Nick added the poll, I'm really curious for all of you pet lovers. Are you more of a cat person or a dog person. I would have to say that even though I love them both, I'm definitely more of a cat person.

I see that somebody else already took the poll. Was that you Nick by any chance? Are you the one who picked dogs? (Like I said, dogs are cool too. It was a close tie between them. :yes)

I voted dog because the option of both because our Cat died and we have not found another needing a human to take it in. My dogs are one Dashhundt Mix named Delilah and our latest rescue is a Chocolate Lab and Pit Bulldog mix named Reeses because Jar forced over her head and with bruises all over her body. It took a couple of weeks before she trusted my wife not to hurt her and about six months for her to trust me and my daughter. She recently made a major break through. My wife and daughter drove her around for the previous two weeks, every day for a couple of hours, prepping her for our weekend trip to and from Corpus Christie to see my new great-grandson.

Reeses has always sought safety in my lap when anyone came over to visit and she would tremble every time they touched her but this weekend she played with a GSP Puppy that weighed 60 lbs or five more than Reeces and she willingly allowed my Granddaughter and her husband to pet her without stressing out.

Hi Bill, My wife found a story on line of an elderly lady that had a dog for several years. Thee elderly lady passed away and the grandchildren took in the dog. They would visit Grandma grave on a regular basis. One day about two years later they went to put flowers on the grave and took the dog with them. The dog went to the grave and laid down and would not leave. They had to pick up the dog and take her away with them (loyalty). I remember watching on the news of a soldier who was killed in
Afghanistan and was brought home for his burial. During services they brought his life long dog that he raised from a pup. The dog went up to the casket and laid down, with his paws in front and his head lowered on his paws during the whole service. I love what God created for us. Pets do not have a sinful nature, the only mean animals are those that their overseers make them that way. I love everything that God made, I hate every nature of man that destroys. I believe we will see everything that God created in the new heaven and earth void of the curse, delivered unto the son's of God.
Brother Bill, please check out the Voice of the Martyrs on my post. They need our prayers and support.
In Him, who became a little lower than the angels for awhile, to take us back with Him, higher than the angels to dwell in the house of the Lord. (Heb. 2:5-18)

You are right on all points, including Voice of the Martyrs. So few people have any idea of the persecution the rest of Christianity are under. In the nineties I was just saved and was busy consuming the Word to get to know God up close and personally and I never had the radio in my Pick-up or in my diesel play anything but Christian Radio. And when I addressed the Church about what was being done to our brothers and sisters in the South of Sudan, people did not beleve me ecause the MSM

We claim to love the Christ but we ignore our brothers and sisters because they are of another race. And it is so difficult to teach people that there is only a single race and every one of us are genetically brothers and sisters.

Yes that was me. Huge dog person.

Some polls are public, so you can see who voted for what by clicking on the numbers.

I'm more of a dog person, but only because I'm allergic to our cats in fall and spring.
Right now, we have 4 dogs and 2 cats... I do t care to much for 2 of the dogs because they are yappers and drive me nuts. They belong to my son....
